If anyone wants to watch Star Trek episodes or movies without Paramount Plus, here’s a link to a Google drive :) It has all of the series, and the episodes I’ve watched all had subtitles. I just watch episodes in the drive video player, which is a lot easier than pirating sites and better than paramount plus.

i have everything ready for this new arc of doctor who!

please return Christopher Eccleston, i miss you so much baby

watching the Orville 2x07 and

last episode was funny and shit, and then the next episode is just the most depressing shit ever

i just saw someone saying "i hope i arrive at home and pass away" bro totally me

Do you think Snowy ever gets offended that Tintin pretends he’s got rabies to scare people away?

mhhh, would be low-key fun to do a rabid milou dark fanart...... mf resting the urge of biting tintin but at the end doing it so and tintin being desperate and pleading and oh god hjvjsfxhjdnc

bro i just started to read the second tintin story and what the fuck is this font i can barely read it

this is why the old font will always be superior

I've always known the old font was handwritten; I have two versions of Tintin at home (Indira and Gramedia from Indonesia) in which the Indira version, that has parchment-like papers, has the handwritten font and some marks like pencil traces can be seen. Gramedia is the new computer font.

What I knew just now—and I had to look it up—is that the person who did the famous lettering is a man named Hyslop.

Hyslop's version is no longer used around 2010s, I believe.

But what's interesting is that the new font isn't even that Italic...

what's the name of the publisher who made the change, OP?

and here i was throwing shit at hergé cuz i thought it was his choice of font 💀💀 sorry babe 😍🤪

got this version from a Spanish publisher/editorial called Editorial Juventud

apparently from the few information I've gathered, these mfs were the first editorial/publisher on doing and releasing an official translation of Tintin's stories and have been doing it since 1983.

(and at a point, Juventud had the rights of Tintin's franchise but later had conflicts with Casterman)

Translation: "As from 1983, Editorial Juventud published several special editions that included the character's first adventure, Tintin in the country of Soviets –originally published in 1929 (in 1930 as an album)"

Translation: "There was a parallel edition in Catalan, listed separately because the publishing label changed to JOVENTUT, as well as the editions in Asturian, Galician and Basque, published by Juventud or other labels under different collection titles."

Translation: "Since 2001, Casterman -distributed by Panini- came into conflict with the rights of Juventud when translating the albums into Spanish and Catalan again. However, this edition was withdrawn from the market in 2009 by court order."

this is about Casterman's whole conflict with Juventud

Translation: "From 2001 to 2006, all the adventures of Tintin were published in Spain directly by Panini-Casterman with a new translation and labeling. This violated the exclusivity contract for Hergé's work held by the Juventud publishing house and which led to the withdrawal of the entire collection from the market. Despite the ban in 2003, the books continued in bookstores years later."

nowadays Juventud is the official publisher for Tintin's Spanish translations, Casterman only published 9 Tintin's stories before being banned from all bookstores, Casterman's version have different font styles from Juventud, i was just able to find this low quality photo of Casterman's font style. (apparently Casterman's book versions are really wanted by collectors, prices might vary between 90€ and 150€)

I've been doing more research and it seems that Juventud changed their font style to Hyslop's font (left photo being from Tintin in the Congo and right photo being from Tintin in America) it's somewhat different but still it's low-key hard for me to read LMAO , haven't seen other books from Juventud but my guess is that they just stick with Hyslop's font (i can ofc search if they did another font change but um I'm low-key lazy busy right now)

hope this was helpful!
