watching btas and im... confused????

why are all the tvs in black and white? i know i wasn't alive in the early 90s, but im positive most people used color tvs.

update: my granma said in 1992 she had a color tv. what's going on here i need answers

I LOVE the anachronistic setting of BTAS. The primary influences (I think) were 1940's noir detective films and 1990's sci-fi, which makes for some really interesting/amusing paradoxes. It also makes me wonder how Metropolis is faring from across the bay, watching Gothamites popping about in their zoot suits and hauling around tommy guns like characters in a black and white gangster film. Iconic.

i think it would be cute if after a long night of patrolling, tim crashes at home, ready to sleep through his birthday, but he checks the YJ groupchat and sees that they're really excited to come visit
