What is happening in my head?

@antijaxson

-Jackson- -22- -he/they- -always confused-

Posting here too! Just so I can give a longer explanation a bit for the few pieces I've been able to scramble for Sean.

Now I'm not the best at drawing people so it's very rare that I get to try to draw fanart for Sean and the community but I'll share the few I've been able to do!

Starting with the spring banner I made for Sean's server! Has to be one of my favorites becos I loved how it turned out and the fact that I somehow won the banner contest. It's always such a funny shock to go onto the server and see my art there. I've never been so proud of an accomplishment like that.

Next up is the Chase brody youtooz plush concept. Now I did this for kicks and giggles (/hj. Please Sean. We need sad dad plushies.) But it was pretty funny that that reference sheet got way more attention than I thought. And at the time of iris being fairly new was also so funny to me. He looks so sad. I need 17 of them.

King of the daisies portrait! My one piece of fanart that got the most recognition from the community! I spent a grueling 5-6 hours on this piece. It was during a time of art block so I wanted to try drawing realism for a month (didn't go exactly a month but I tried!) And this was my second attempt of the month and it came out so well. I absolutely adore it. And the inspiration came from when Sean announced that white daisies were his favorite flowers. So of course to honor the flow3r king, I did that for him. (Also another reason the banner, he's wearing a daisy crown!)

And finally the anti portrait. This one I made at work actually right before I was contacted for winning a meet and greet ticket to face time Sean through moment house. And to calm my nerves for the next couple days, I worked on this piece. (I referenced an art piece done by turquoise magpie I believe for this one!) But also another part of my month realism challenge!

The 2 realistic portraits hold a special place in my heart. Becos even through the horrendous wifi (and my uncontrollable anxiety) and cutting out during my meet and greet, I had the chance to show him them. I just didn't get to hear or see his reactions properly but the fact I showed him at all for him to see was more than enough.

Annnd then these last art pieces (I'm frankly TERRIFIED of showing. Unsure if it counts as fanart buttt)

These first 2 photos are reference pieces for my "JJ" inspired OC/Fursona. He is considered my comfort character who I tend to draw and doodle whenever I'm feeling down or having a bad day. Jameson (and chase) are my favorite egos and I find comfort in them. Not sure why, but I do. I feel like they just came at times I was struggling the most and brought joy to me though. Just Sean in general has done as such.

And the last photo is a book cover I created for a short story I'm writing with my self insert OC and chase Brody (along with the other egos).

The short story takes part of a community I'm in that surrounds giant/smalls/humans folklore and certain cultures surrounding a time of creatures big and small, Aka G/T! Think of any fairy tales like jack and beanstalk or even japenese animes like the secret world of ariety or movies and books like "The borrowers". (Another comfort for me. I find writing helpful as well for bad days and to also center and express myself again)

Anyways one of my favorite human pieces I've ever completed on my own through lots of practice and failed sketches (my good friend zora rendered and shaded it for me! Actual drawing, linework and coloring done by me!)

Anyways, I hope I'm not overstaying my welcome so I'll cut it off here!

I thank you both for doing this revival! I was never able to participate truely with "septicart" but I'm glad I can right now through this :)

Thanks for reading!

Very Brief Guide to [tumblr], for Reddit refugees

Shit You Must Do Right Fucking Now:

  • Change your profile picture, blog header, and title to something other than the defaults. Do it right now. You will be mistaken for a bot otherwise, and blocked.
  • Go into Settings -> Dashboard, scroll down to Preferences, and turn off the options in the picture. This will get rid of most of the algorithmic stuff.
  • Turn off Tumblr Live. You have to snooze it once every 7 days for some stupid reason. It's hosted through another company and will steal your data if you use it.
  • Go to your blog settings (under the little person menu) and turn off these two settings:
  • Turn off infinite scroll (lags the site) and turn on timestamps on posts, in the same menu as Preferences.

Basic Features of the Site:

  • Reblogs drive the entire site. If you'd upvote something on Reddit, you'd reblog it on Tumblr. You can add text, images, or tags to a reblog, but you're not required to.
  • The dashboard is the equivalent to your Reddit feed, and contains the posts of all the people you follow, with the newest at the top
  • You can send an ask to someone, and it'll appear in their askbox for them to answer. You can receive them too, or turn off the settings if you don't want.
  • Tags aren't actually used for finding stuff (search function is dogshit), but are more for categorizing. People also talk in tags. Because Tumblr is weird, you can't use quotation marks (") or commas in them without fucking it up
  • You can filter both tags and phrases under Account Settings; doing this will put a filter over a post that contains them, which you'll have to click through to see the post itself. Useful for avoiding hate speech or blocking out annoying stuff
  • You can make polls in posts. Here's one now.
  • Likes are useless. They literally do fuck-all except send a notification to the OP.

Stuff Tumblr Does That Other Sites Don't:

  • Very old posts (I'm talking from like 2012) often circulate on this site. There's no such thing as a post being "too old" to reblog
  • Blocking is highly encouraged; you can block someone for any reason. Even for just being annoying.
  • If you and someone else are following each other, you are mutuals. Mutuals are fucking awesome and are treasured like friends. Mutuals are a thing on other sites but Tumblr treats em differently.
  • You can screenshot someone's tags if you like them and add them to a reblog. This is called "peer review"
  • Sometimes someone will find a blog and go through it and like/reblog a bunch of posts. This is totally fine and not "creepy" like it is seen as on other sites.
  • Tumblr jokes often rely on Continuing The Bit and a "yes, and?" attitude. Goncharov is probably the best example of this.
  • We are fucking infested with bots. They will either have totally blank profiles or be filled with porn. Block and report on sight.
  • Censorship is pretty lax here. I can say "I want to brutally stab Elon Musk to death and watch him bleed out in front of a crowd" and nobody gives a shit.

General Etiquette:

  • Don't try to do epic clapbacks here, you'll probably just get laughed at or blocked. If someone is bugging you or spouting bigoted bullshit, block them.
  • Reblog art!!! Artists often struggle to gain traction on here; reblogging will give them a boost.
  • Not every reblog needs a comment or tag in it
  • You can go all out with tagging your stuff to organize it, or you can just leave it all blank. Someone might ask "hey, can you tag these posts as [x]?" and you can decide if you want to do that or not. It's generally polite to oblige, but "no" is still reasonable.
  • Avoid discourse like the plague. Filter it, block people who start it, scroll past it when you see it. Just don't get involved in it. Ever.
  • Don't put fandom tags or jokes on someone's posts about serious matters or personal shit
  • You're responsible for curating your own dashboard; if you complain about constantly seeing stuff you don't like, that's probably on you. Don't be afraid to unfollow.
  • Follower count doesn't matter much here and you don't have to make yours known if you don't want to.
  • Reblog, don't repost. Reblogging keeps the credit and doesn't "steal" engagement like Twitter retweets.
  • If someone likes something a LOT, they might reblog it like 30 times in a row. This is normal
  • Having a post blow up is actually kinda a bad thing, since it floods your notifications. There's a sort of in-joke about how having a big post is awful and people jokingly try to stop their own posts from blowing up, often in vain.

Tips:

  • Get XKit Rewritten if you're on desktop, it's a really helpful extension
  • In the little drop-down menu next to the 'Post now' button you can either save a draft, schedule a post, or add it to your queue. The queue lets you post things in order at a certain interval, which you can change. It's good for spreading stuff out over time.
  • You can use Shift+R to quickly reblog stuff and Shift+Q to queue!
  • Filter your notifications under Activity - you can also see some neat graphs
  • Find each other! If you want your old Reddit communities to stick together, seek out other refugees and follow them.

Have fun on [tumblr], everyone!

a little silly comic of kratos ordering atreus a happy meal

also want to credit @mikamoony since it’s based off a scenario we both created, Rainbowdash for Atreus was her expert opinion!!!!

Using tumblr is like living in a low class apartment building. You just get used to the landlord not fixing things, and then someone new moves in and you’re helpfully like “oh yeah don’t drink the tap water, it’s got stuff in it that makes you sick” and then your neighbor you’ve had forever goes “oh they took the stuff out actually” and you’re like “what? when was this?”

“like two years ago”

“you mean i could’ve been drinking the tap water all this time?”

“yeah. they gave us individual mailboxes too finally, you don’t have to dig through the communal bin anymore”

“are you for real right now?? i just redirected my mail, i didnt know”

and the new tennant is like “why did you guys even live here if it was so bad”

“we like it.”

“I kinda miss the communal mail bin tho”

“the perpetually naked guy got evicted though”

“i know, so sad. he was really gross”

“i mean, his cousin streaks through the commons sometimes and knocks on all the doors”

“oh yeah, hate that guy”

New Person: I just saw this weird guy in the lobby in a really creepy anthropomorphic Pikachu costume??????

Old Resident: yeah we have no idea where that guy came from. We’ve left messages with maintenance ‘bout ‘im but-

Other Old Resident: just don’t make eye contact and you should be fine.

“what are these strange markings in the paint?”

“Oh! Thats from the crab infestation!”

“The crab infestation?! Wow, glad they got that under control before I moved in.”

“Oh, no no, it was an intentional infestation.”

“Uh….”

“Yeah, we’re hoping they bring the crabs back next year. A lot of us made friends with those crabs.”

No, I’m not joking, he doesnt just look like him, I swear to God neil gaiman lives across the hall.

The apartment building throws holiday parties but not typical parties like for Christmas or Valentine’s day

Knives are decorating the walls for the Ides Of March.

There’s a community movie night held on October 3rd where tenants choose to watch either Mean Girls or binge watch all of Fullmetal Alchemist.

Every single apartment opens their windows and blasts Earth, Wind, and Fire on the 21st of September

November 5th rolls around and the entire building just erupts into inexplicable chaos

“What’s with the floor?”

“Color theory. Don’t worry about it.”

For those who have no idea what the fuck is going on with Markiplier today

  • A couple days ago, Coryxkenshin made a video about YouTube's favoritism and how it's very likely having racist influences
  • It had a lot of receipts for proof and things like this have happened more than once
  • I highly recommend checking it out, it's short and to the point and explains the situation
  • But basically his playthrough of a horror game that's popular right now was age-restricted, cause of some self-harm scene
  • despite other youtubers of his fame level still had their videos up and with this segment still tacked on
  • So he sent a clip of Mark's segment (probably cause he's non-white like Cory) to prove his point
  • It lead to both of them getting age-restricted
  • Now at this point today, other youtubers made videos defending Cory like Ludwig and Jacksepticeye (jack even having personal experience with his girlfriend getting the same treatment, so it could be a case of sexism maybe as well)
  • Mark decided to take a different route than the long talk format:
  • Try Not To Get Age-Restricted Challenge, where he played an adult game. He blurred everything out of course, but he still uploaded it and didn't age-restrict it
  • A great move, as many people like myself were curious why this was uploaded and found the situation out
  • WELL IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT TODAY...
  • Mark uploaded this the same day he was to appear in a YouTube hosted livestream where a bunch of gamers got together to play some minecraft and other shit
  • If I could high-five Mark, I would
  • So at this point, YouTube could age-restrict this video Mark uploaded, but all eyes would be on them since everyone would Know why they did this
  • So instead, they went a different route:
  • Cut out a huge chunk of Mark's segment
  • That he recorded and edited together
  • with his editors' help
  • On a deadline to get this out FOR YOUTUBE
  • So that only about 30 SECONDS was left in the stream
  • Keep in mind Mark's face was the biggest on the thumbnail of the livestream
  • AAAND he apparently wasn't shown in the entire rest of the livestream either
  • Mark confirmed this on Twitter that his thing was cut
  • And said he would upload the whole segment tomorrow

So here is how Mark used his YouTube golden boy status to look them in the eyes and give them the middle finger.

And why i love him.

If the negative thoughts you’re having are personalising, try your best to change them like the examples above. Try your best to be kind to yourself. If these thoughts aren’t like the ones that you’re having, that’s okay. This series is going to address the ten most common kinds of negative thoughts every week. If reading or learning about them becomes too much, please remember that you’re allowed to take a break and try again later.
