FINAL GIRL AT THE VAMPIRE MANSION

this post is written by someone who was stupid enough to wear a white shirt to art school

face of a man who knows the answer but can't say under pain of "i swear to god frank if you don't keep your mouth shut about this i'm kicking you out of the band" /lh

it makes me so happy that alex wrote herself her own river song fanfiction and got it OKed by doctor who, so now it's canon

No because there's so many details about River that she canonized;

  • River now is confirmed to have a Respiratory Bypass System, also including other important Timelord biology that had only been speculated in audios and books.
  • River is a cat person (:
  • River's Vortex Manipulator can be voice controlled, used to store and send files, and can only carry one person per trip.
  • River has been the reason for several supernatural sightings in historical events.
  • River uses "Alex Kingston" as a pen name
  • River has met 13 (mental link is close enough for me), and 13 knows River almost went full goddess because of the ruby
  • Silence blood is acidic and can burn human skin
  • River gets her perfume from Gallifrey (absolute QUEEN)
  • River finds the flow of time intoxicating.
  • River sunburns easily

Feel free to add anything I missed <3

oh. i just found out that the writer of the vincent van gogh doctor who episode wrote it as a tribute to his sister.

Richard Curtis wrote, "So – here’s the thing – the key reason I wrote this episode – was out of love for my sister Bindy. She was a gorgeous and brilliant person, 2 years older than me. She loved Vincent Van Gogh and life. She couldn’t have been more full of generosity and joy.
But half way through her life she was hit by depression and intermittently it hurt her for the rest of her life. And a few years before this show, like Vincent, she took her own life.
And in the key scene of the episode - when they bring Vincent to the future... that was me trying to show Bin how glorious she had been in our lives - and how nothing could change that.
And then also to deal with the fact that mental health issues are hard - and the capacity for joy, as I know Bindy did know how much she was loved, is intertwined with the immense difficulty of the illness sometimes...
So taking her own life wasn’t a failure by her, or a rejection of all of us. It was, as they say on Love island, what it was."

one reason why doctor who is my favourite show and it will always be the show that impacted me the most is their take on humanity and human rituals. when the doctor said i need you (companions) to see because i can’t see it anymore… you’ve seen one star being born and dying and you’ve seen them all… you make all of time and space your backyard and what are you left with? a backyard…. when the doctor said “Come on. No human’s ever seen this. You’ll be the first.” and donna said “all I want to see is my bed.” and when the doctor said “that’s what you do. The human race makes sense out of chaos. Marking it out with weddings and Christmas and calendars. This whole process is beautiful.“ and when the doctor said “there is not happy ever after, it’s just a lie we tell ourselves because the truth is so hard” and when river said “no, my love, happy ever after does exist. it just means time. little time.”
