Tony Stark was raised specifically to be blind to the problematic aspects of Stark Industries.

He was worked and groomed into an easily manipulated puppet by those around him(why wouldn’t he trust Obie?)

Then the moment he realized he had been wrong he reavaluated and changed, not only his own behavior, but the behavior of his company as well.

I think the scene that best puts this into perspective is when he goes back to Afghanistan. He destroys the weapons that give the 10 rings the edge, and then (this is incredibly important) he gives the leader to the people so they can decide what justice looks like.

Tony isn’t judge jury and executioner, he’s an equalizer.

That’s what makes him so special. That’s why hes a hero.

Yall can call him an imperialist, a war profiteering monster, egotistical and dangerous all you want.

But that just means we know you missed the biggest character arc in the MCU

but reid learning russian just so he can have a new, more personal connection with emily that others on the team dont have & immersing himself in other languages unrelated to his field like learning korean and yoruba so he can better understand ppl who dont default to english as a second language & reid buying a keyboard to learn to play after his encounter with an autistic kid that could only use his piano as a way of communicating with people & reid staying by a traumatized childs bedside for hours to find a way to help him communicate what he saw and managing to get him to do so by having him draw the encounter and later even talk abt it..

for all the talk of 'missing social cues' and awkwardness, reid seems to be the best on the team at building bridges between himself and other people, especially when those people are isolated or unable/uninterested in communicating for whatever reason, and its likely cause he knows all to well what its like to feel excluded, ignored, singled out or alone. his most underrated passion is doing everything he can on his part to build meaningful personal connections with people, especially those that dont have the means to put in that same effort on their end.
