for the both of them smiling would probably be both cathartic and healing, because even forcing a smile does make you feel a little better. so actually being able to smile - even if only around each other (for now) would be a huge step forward in their personal growth

i do think in canon he does try to mimic all might’s smile but it comes out more like. aggressive/sinister? however the idea he covers his smile because he doesn’t like it hurts me

going off the one (1) time bkg has laughed in canon he covers his mouth when he laughs so it took a long time for todo to be able to pry bkgs hand away from his mouth to actually see them and he was just gone

For real though, people like to draw todo's smile like that one illusion of him that camie made, all gentle and stuff but the two times we saw him smile with his teeth in the manga it seems to be the same kind of manic smile that bakugou has. The two of them are matching shark bois.
