uhhh new pinned post? Just a little about me and this trainwreck I'm running here.

I'm Angelo, my life is like a shitty sitcom (shitcom?) and I won't elaborate on that.

This is my personal blog that I've had for way, WAY too long. I mainly reblog shitposts at this point, but expect occasional hyperfixation dumps and weird anons which flood my inbox (keep it weird)

Rules aren't really my thing, so just don't be a bigot, or I'll just block you. I don't debate my right to exist, nor the rights of any other beautiful humans ❤️

If I accidentally reblog a bigot, pls let me know. I'm bad at paying attention to things and I probably didn't read the URL.

For the record, accidentally tapping on Tumblr live when it randomly appears every week does not count as using Tumblr live for the sake of this poll. This is only referring to purposeful use of the feature.

I'd appreciate it if people could share this for a larger sample size!

Favorite thing about renaissance faires is that they have fuck all to to with the renaissance. This thang is not about historical anything this is about dressing up like a fairy and watching a joust

my take on the whole “is therapy speak making us selfish” thing is no, it’s not. it’s just giving people who were already selfish some extremely annoying new vocabulary

are you disabled or suffer from other chronic conditions that often leave you bed bound? do you often feel like you’re in the “damn bitch you live like this?” meme because cleaning is too exhausting?

my protip is get yourself one of THESE bad boys and hang it by your bed

it’s an over the door shoe rack and the pockets are perfect for holding a lot of household objects.

you can use the pockets to store trash, snacks, meds, and water bottles. if you worry about hygiene, you can also keep some for dry shampoo, deodorant, body wipes, clean undergarments, or toothbrush materials. on good days, you can clean it out and restock it, or have someone else help you. on bad days, you won’t have to worry about getting food and you’ll be able to feel a little better about hygiene.

it’s also really great if you want to keep your hobbies close by!! i can often only work on my bed, and then i have to worry about putting everything away if i have to lay down. if it’s a hobby that has materials that can be stored in the pockets, it can feel more accessible to jump in and out of and take less spoons to set/clean up.

pro tip for disabled people (especially autistic people) that i just realized after literal years of chronic illness...

when a health professional asks how you're doing, it's not small talk. they want to know how your health has been. do not reply "good." if you seem them for chronic pain, talk about your pain. if you see them for mental health, tell them how you've been feeling. etc. etc. again... don't reply "good." jump right into it and be honest about your health.

With love and patience, I need folks to please set aside some time to get better at recognizing antisemitic dogwhistles.

I'm using the following as an example, but intentionally not singling out the person who put this on my dash, cause I'm talking about a broader issue, and I want everybody to self examine.

Okay. this ended up on my dash, a comment in a thread.

"noticing" is a dogwhistle for an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

let's look at the profile:

^ "queen of white." gonna say that's a pretty big red flag for white supremacy.

we haven't even started looking through the blog yet, this is just the post & blog title.

if you go looking on the blog, pretty quickly you find this user is also reblogging from other white supremacists

if you scroll for about ~2 minutes you start seeing her use extremely loaded incendiary and derogatory language about trans women

finally, if you search "white" you see blatant nazi posting.

if you spend a little time familiarizing yourself with antisemitic dogwhistles, you will save time because you won't need to look through blogs to check, you will see "noticing" in that context and you will already know this is a nazi.

antisemitism is often one of the easiest ways for fascists to get their messaging to spread widely because very few people take the time to learn these dogwhistles, and a lot of people respond to Jewish people patiently pointing them out over and over again with some level of disbelief/resentment/hostility.

it is to everyone's benefit, for everyone's collective safety, for you to familiarize yourself with antisemitic dogwhistles.
