I don’t know if they’ll even make a my year of rest and relaxation adaptation at this point bc it was such a cultural sensation of a specific time that has definitely now since passed. But watching the idol I think lily rose depp would be perfect as the narrator and I think everyone would want Rachel Sennot as reva but honestly i think Zoe kravitz would do well bc she’s actually Jewish and it would be interesting to see her play a less glamorous character. They both have pre 9/11 super model face too so I think it could work so well.

People just love sitcoms bc the idea of belonging to an chosen family made up of people who are unapologetically themselves that overcome their differences and navigate obstacles together with a positive outlook and sense of humor is comforting. Not to mention everything is resolved within the episode or there is some kind of closure. It’s really such a fantasy and something so far removed from reality in a way. It’s very obvious to say but I find it so interesting when people watch sitcoms and think they like it bc it’s funny or they like the characters.

The thing abt the Miranda sings apology is that she absolutely is aware of the meme of the whole YouTuber apology and strategically did the ukulele thing so the press surrounding her was based around her bizarre apology and not the specifics of her cancellation. Like idk the way YouTube operates really allows for channels to become these cult problematic hate bait farms and allowing the apology to circulate as some kind of meme plays in her favor in so many ways.

I hate most 80s/90s American rock…I’m really not that much of a rock music connoisseur but being of the streaming generation I know select songs from a variety of bands some obscure some very popular. But I am completely in the dark regarding rock music lineages and who’s who really. I have to take classes and compliance is going to be extra on my ass but my life rn is really so different and not how I ever expected

This is why I stan hari nef…she needs to become a multi millionaire and lead a goop esque empire. Bc this specific type of pretension honestly needs leadership & guidance.

Everyone who hates the idol thought the Anna Delvey show was amazing

Another thing I’m not happy about is how bad the V Stiviano adaptation looks. There’s so much of an intersectional dialogue regarding that story and so much nuance that needs to be taken into consideration. Not to mention the costuming is so bad it just doesn’t look like the early 2010s at all. The casting as well does not interest me at all. That story could have swept at the Oscar’s now it’s on its way to be a shitty one off fox show.

I really liked I tonya…honestly I think that’s one of the best movies of the late 10s..it’s kind of perfect. Everything in it just works, the acting the set design and costuming the editing the writing the actual figure skating scenes the social commentary was done well also and felt natural to the story. All tabloid spectacles deserve that kind of empathetic treatment. There are not even that many period pieces of the late 20th century that felt both immersive and good on their own so it stands out for that as well. I also love movies that affirm your distrust in people.
