& it's because I love you...

@and-its-because-i-love-you

we are so fucked guys its over

like this is insane like. of course women can be misogynistic, anyone can, thats absolutely true, but it really feels like people think all misogyny is is saying mean things and thinking misogynistic things instead of like femicide and marital rape and sexual harrassment at work and the fucking pay gap and the devaluation of domestic work and child rearing and medical neglect and abuse and forced births and forced sterilization and misogynistic and transmisogynistic hate crimes and domestic abuse and. idk. the systemic and violent oppression of all women? by the patriarchy?

I partially blame the media. When misogyny is talked about online, people are generally talking about podcast bros and women like Just Pearly Things, or are complaining about someone not being a 'girls' girl'.

People generally aren't talking about femicide, or female genital mutilation, or how in several states in the US child marriage is still legal (and the children are mostly young girls being married to adult men, not two teenagers getting married), or that incarcerated women often don't have access to basic sanitary needs, or how women have been killed simply for rejecting someone, or how one of the leading causes of death in the US for pregnant women is murder

But sure, let's pretend that the big problem is women being mean to each other.

we’re gonna be ok btw

it’s ok if you’re scared. or tired. or unsure. or one million billion other complicated emotions at once. but i’ve decided things are going to be ok anyway. and i will hold that belief close to my heart no matter how scared or tired or lonely or depressed or one million billion other things i am. i will hold onto that. and if you’re scared, you can hold onto me. we can carry each other through

“I feel very small. I don't understand. I have so much courage, fire, energy, for many things, yet I get so hurt, so wounded by small things.”

“I have died for the smallest things. Nothing washes off”

every woman thinks she's evil and irredeemable for making a few avoidable mistakes while every man goes about his day thinking he's normal after having emotionally tortured at least 5 different women
