fun fact: the reason that the plural of goose is geese but the plural of moose is not meese is because goose derives from an ancient germanic word undergoing strong declension, in the pattern of foot/feet and tooth/teeth, wherein oo is mutated to ee. however ‘moose’ is a native american word added to the english lexicon only ~400 years ago, and lacks the etymological reason to be pluralized in that way.

Oh baby.  Keep talking dirty to me.

i'm going to say this because other disabled people deserve some warning, and it sure as hell wasn't given by any prerelease or review media i saw:

the new zelda game, 'tears of the kingdom' has a major trigger for medical abuse body horror front and centre from the very beginning, all throughout the game

at the very start of the game, link is injured, and then wakes up to be told that he has had someone else's dead arm grafted onto him, without consultation or consent, as a "necessity" to "save his life"

there is so much ableist subtext i could draw out from this, but importantly, if you have any triggers with forced or unwanted medical procedures done on you, go in prepared and bracing yourself

it's not a prosthesis, or gauntlets, or magitech infusion, it is literally textually a dead arm transplant done while unconscious, and the game's gaze lingers on and highlights it and its difference from his body constantly

i don't know how this was considered acceptable in a family friendly franchise, other than the sheer ignorance of the developers about disabled peoples' medical experiences

speaking of which, since i know i'm opening myself up to shit by even mentioning this is an issue, if you have to wonder why this is a trigger especially for disabled people and why i'm treating it with such gravity:

horrifying medical procedures done on us without consent that we're only told about after waking up is unfortunately routine for people with disabilities of many kinds

and forceful transplantation of an unwanted (or even unviable) limb against patient consent is absolutely a real world thing doctors actually do in the name of making a person "whole" and "fixed" and because disability is abhorrent to them. it's not a fictional or fantastical scenario, and i know this because it was done to me, and it was living hell that i will never recover from.

so if you want to argue about it with me or tell me "well actually it's ghost magic", or tell me about your headcanons, or be in denial about the horrors forced on us that you don't want to believe are real.... fucking don't.

already getting a lot of hate from people that don't seem to understand the very basic fact that real people who go outside and touch grass can still get their real medical trauma triggered by fictional depictions....

No one I know has had the same experience as me getting on hrt and honestly it’s a damn shame

me, mentally bracing myself for months, if not years of psychological evaluation: “So I think I might be trans?”

doc: “cool cool cool cool”

doc: “so… do you wanna start estrogen today or…?”

This is the blessed post of ungatekeeping. Reblog this to never again have to barter with a medical professional regarding treatment of your mental or physical health.

I had similar and actually had to tell my doctor not yet because I wasn’t actually out to everyone by then hahaha

my singing voice is good for showers and mornings in the kitchen and drunken nights and lullabies for babies who need sleep and im okay with this

i think it’s silly to be ashamed of your art because it’s not in a museum and of your voice because it’s not selling out stadiums. there will always be people who enjoy and appreciate what you can do.

How do I explain to you people that interracial relationships are okay

Not every white person dating a POC is fetishizing. White people can be respectful and responsible when it comes to culture and relationships and not everyone has bad intentions.

Asian people can date Black people without you saying shit like “your kids will be so pretty” they’re not dating for pretty kids. They’re dating bc they like each other.

Someone can dress their partner in clothing from their culture if they want. Someone can take their partner to cultural events if they want.

People in relationships can share cultures, experiences and love without it being toxic or skin deep.

Their partner isn’t culturally appropriating. Their partner is being shown the ultimate form of love, bc their partner trusts them and loves them enough to share their history and heritage.

Yeah, dating someone from your culture is nice bc you automatically have similar experiences. But you’re not limited to dating people with the same experiences. Loving someone is sharing and growing and being together.

Interracial relationships aren’t always toxic, and some of y’all need to stop projecting onto other people.

👆 THIS 👆 👏👏👏

Calling ineterracial relationships toxic or fetishizing just seem like anti race mixing or racism with extra steps

This reminded me of this

Conservatives finally say the quiet part out loud:

They would rather have a dead child than a trans child.

Family values, right?

People like this are abusers are are the ones who should be investigated and have their children taken away, not LGBTQ parents. This is neglect, this is open contempt for the life of your child.

If you can't handle the idea that your child will be LGBTQ, will openly abuse them if they are, if you would not accept and love them for who they are no matter what, and allow them to die through neglect then you should never have children. Period.

Your child wasn't being emotionally manipulative, they were a fucking child and it lasted 3 fucking years. Holy shit.

That is that "persistent documented dysphoria" (since you knew about it) over the course of 3 years that meet the standards of even the most draconian restrictions like those put in place by a despotic government official in Missouri.

You aren't protecting anyone, you just hate trans people.

Whatever This Is: The Saga

[ID: three screenshots of the chat from 2021 Christmas MCC. The first one reads: Smallishbeans says: jimmy I hope you lose. At everything. Solidaritygaming says: joel I hope you win. At nothing. Smallishbeans says: thanks babe. Solidaritygaming says: you fool. no worries babe. The second screenshot is from after Sands of Time. Solidaritygaming says: joel. you loser. LOL. Smallishbeans says: I hate you. Babe. Solidaritygaming says: stop it babe. Fine. Come over for dinner. Smallishbeans says: give a kiss to cheer me up. The third screenshot, which is slightly blurry, reads: Smajor1995 says: what. jimmy. I bumped you to husband 3 instead of 4. Don’t make me regret it. End ID]

Found this post again and pleased to report that a whole two and a half years later they are Still calling each other babe

accidentally called legolas logan in the groupchat and now i can’t live it down

The Fellowship of the White Claw:

Logan Greenleaf

Griffin Gloinson

Aaron Ilsidur

Bryce Gondor

Mike Brandybuck

Parker Took

Sam Gamgee

Fred Baggins

And of course their frat dad; Gary Grey

the funniest thing about this is Sam still being Sam

funniest culture clash by far on qsmp is the hispanic and brazilian ccs making an actual effort to be family friendly around bbh

like their efforts are so sweet and well meaning and warm my heart but bbh doesn't need you to be family friendly he needs you to swear around him so he can yell at you to be family friendly it's his enrichment
