archived. 'twas a good run, my friends :)

by this point my entire stance on being in fanbases is that it feels like i’m trying to live peacefully in a secluded cottage and do my own thing while also witnessing the fall of the roman empire right next door

imagine jack winning the stanley cup and him thinking that for whatever reason bitty couldn’t make it to the last game but of fucking course bitty would make it to that fucking game if he had to crawl there one step at a time so he surprises jack and when jack sees him he’s so high on adrenaline he just starts making out with bitty before he even realizes what he’s doing and then they makeout forever for the rest of their lives

  • game 7 of the stanley cup final: jack asking bitty awkwardly if he wants to sit with jack’s parents at the game, or if he should ask for tickets in a totally different section. bitty laughing over the phone softly, “obviously i want to sit with your family,” he says, “they’re your family.” “you’ll be on the jumbotron if you sit beside my dad,” jack laughs. “perfect, lardo’s making posters”
  • jack going onto the ice for warm up and scanning the stands for bitty. bitty and his parents actually getting on the jumbotron after jack scores the first goal of the game, and jack smiling and waving at the jumbotron
  • tie game and jack is tired in his bones like he’s never been before. jack getting smacked into the boards. jack shaking his head a bit as he stands up, to snap out of it, win it for bittle.
  • jack getting the assist on the winning goal, the falconers win it 12 minutes into the first overtime period, jack and his teammates pile onto the 18 year old rookie who scored the winning goal, and jack feels like he did it right, did good work, helped his team the way he should, like he belongs
  • bad bob zimmermann being down on the ice, being asked “how proud of you of your son, who wears your number” and bob saying, “that’s his number, now. he’s better that i ever was. i’m more proud now than i was when i first held the Cup”
  • bitty standing off to the side with jack’s mom as jack gets swept up into interviews, bitty smiling and talking to alicia, laughing and red in the cheeks
  • jack leaving every interview abruptly, saying, “i gotta find my family,” and then getting scooped up by the next tsn reporter, being like “i already gave my soundbite, sorry sorry, but i’m trying to find my family,” and the reporter saying, “your father is talking to sports center right now,” and jack saying “no, my family”
  • and then seeing bitty and his whole face splitting into a grin, wider than after he realized they’d won the fucking stanley cup and skating over to bitty and his mom at the corner of the ice, and bitty saying, “amazing jo–” and getting cut off because jack just. fucking pick him up, right off his feet, and spins bitty a little bit, the force of his hug knocking the air out of bitty’s lungs, and then jack kisses him, right there, in front of 25,000 people and so many cameras, and jack’s mom says, “boys,” and then jack’s whole team is tackling him and bitty to the ice, screaming in jack’s ear
  • jack wins the stanley cup, but it’s not the most important win he’s ever had

‘You ran away from home?’ ‘When I was about sixteen,’ said Sirius. ‘I’d had enough.’ ‘Where did you go?’ said Harry, staring at him. ‘Your dad’s place,’ said Sirius. ‘Your grandparents were really good about it; they sort of adopted me as a second son.’

(and I know this set will probably be confusing to some people since a lot of people like Kristin Scott Thomas as Walburga but she’s always been Mrs. Potter to me)

This Boy is the latest indie hit to rock box offices. Jack Zimmermann (former child star, went to rehab, out clean now) appears in his first film post-rehab in a role that critics are unsure he can execute well. Co-star Eric Bittle (literal southern sunshine, labeled “a breath of fresh air in the industry) appears in his first serious film beyond lifetime specials. This Boy tells the story of two college hockey players falling in love (with plenty obstacles in the way). While presented in a romcom storyline, This Boy is praised for addressing lgbtq+ issues in college and professional sports. This Boy wins an unprecedented amount of awards and praises (and co-stars Jack and Eric are often seen together post-production in more-than-friendly circumstances).  - (via bittlebybittle )

im obviously super into social justice culture but over the past year its turned everyone into self righteous dickheads who expect everyone to be perfect angels and like, hey listen, literally no one is. yes definitely call out bigotry and awful systems whenever you can but nitpicking people’s histories and personalities is so malicious and unnecessary and yall do it to feel better about yourselves and thats gross. find healthier ways to be positive in your own life rather than dissecting other people for the thrill of thinking you’re a better person

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2014)

The year is 1925Fresh out of Hogwarts, Newt Scamander finds himself struggling with the banality of working for the Ministry of Magic. When the United Wizarding Republic invites him to investigate a rogue dragon living in the sewer systems of New York City, however, Newt’s boring life is plunged into chaosNew York City is dark, dirty, and dazzling, but with a little help from Nella Larson and Duke Ellington - the brightest witch and wizard of their age - Newt finally starts to feel that New York is home. Together, the Nella and Duke teach Newt how to do the Charleston, how to buy Butterbeer off the blackmarket, and, of course, how to save New York City from a hoard of angry dragons.
Newt Scamander - Nathan Stewart-Jarrett
Nella Larson - Angel Coulby
Duke Ellington - Gary Carr

i have a headcanon that after the second wizarding war, muggle technology got sort of integrated into hogwarts to allow closer communication with muggle friends and family

so they have like phones and stuff to use to call home

little daisy dursley calls home on her first day of school

Daisy: “Daddy, I made it into Ravenclaw!”

Dudley: “Oh, Ravenclaw, the, um–” [covers receiver and turns to Harry] “What the hell does that mean?”

Harry: “Smart house.”

Dudley: [goes back to Daisy] “THE SMART HOUSE! Oh, I am so proud of you!”

some things i’ve learned about adulthood that no one warns you about

  • you will in fact continue to have acne past the age of twenty
  • you will eventually hit a point where you start to feel icky inside if you go too long without eating some sort of vegetables
  • depending on your current level of athleticism/physical activity as well as the kind of activities you did as a kid/teenager, your joints may start acting whack in your twenties, despite what everyone says about that not happening until middle age
  • eventually you will reach a point where you wonder how you were able to stay up until 3am nearly every night and be perfectly fine the next day (and this moment will come much younger than you expect)
  • it is much harder to meet new people after you’re done with school than sitcoms would have you believe
  • don’t let society tell you shit: it is perfectly acceptable to live with your parents after you graduate, there’s no need to be broke and miserable just so you can have some misguided attempt at independence straight out of school
