This flashy salt-flats racer takes the concept of the belly tanker and brings it to the jet age. Traditionally, cars like this were built by taking remnant fuel tanks from World War II fighters, and dropping a flathead V-8 and a basic cockpit into it. This one comes from a Vietnam-era F-4 Phantom, and is powered by a 375-horsepower 4 banger.

Now that winter is fully set in and all the toys have been driven indoors, I’ve been resorting to museums and dealerships to tide me over. Today I stopped in at McLaren Chicago, where a gorgeous 1-off  Senna Edition P1 was on display, along with all kinds of other speedy British toys.
