I Write Things

My writing is the wet paper which no ink sticks to.

Cosmic Collision

“Something interesting has happened.”

Las Vegas and Los Angeles dancing in tandem against the backdrop of the infinite. The Chippendales secured their bowties as the LA Phil streamed into the last movement of Hungarian Dance No. 5 in G Minor.  Cirque du Soleil used the offset in gravitational forces to propel themselves into positions no earth-bound person could contort to. Spiraling inwards, the two cities neoned and sparked as they scraped by each other. They finally collided with an exceptional show of light. 130 billion year-old light.  Russians flocked to their telescopes.  We predicted it, deeply familiar.  Over 48 hours the blue reminiscent of Disney’s castle became red, became pink, became intergalactic-plum-purple.  But the mystery was solved—an astonishing haul of precious metal.  In its wake, a cloud of city waste the size of our solar system, 200 Earth-masses of pure gold!  Enough for the wedding rings and cell phones and nuclear bombs.

“It’s so beautiful. It’s so beautiful it makes me want to cry.”
