Mare: I saw you hanging out with the crown last night.
Cal: Mare, it's not what you think
Mare: (points a gun at him) I WONT HESITATE BITCH!

This Totally Happened

Colonel Farley: So, what exactly is your realtionship with my daughter, Barrow?
Shade: Strictly professional.
Farley: Just friends.
Colonel: [Narrows his eyes.]
Shade, sweating: We're colleagues!
Colonel: [Lips pursing.]
Shade: With benefits?
Farley, hitting Shade with her knee between smiles: What he means is that we're colleagues who benefit from being friends with one another.
Shade: Right!
Colonel: [Looking between them suspiciously] ...Right.

Maven meeting Thomas for the first time:

Thomas: Hey, I'm Thomas and you are?
Maven: Not as straight as I thought I was.

Dancing lessons

Lady Blonos: Now, Prince Tiberias, place your right hand on my waist.
Cal: Where?
Lady Blonos: On my waist.
Cal: *timidly* Oh. Okay
Maven: Thomas, place your hand on my arse!
Thomas: What?!?
Maven: On my arse, Thomas!
Thomas: Are you out of your mind???
Maven: What? It worked for her!

When Sherry Johnson was eleven, she found one day that she’s gonna marry a 20-year-old member of her church who had raped her. She became pregnant and in order to avoid investigation and criminal case, her family and church officials decided to make the girl a legal wife of this monster.

“My mom asked me if I wanted to get married, and I said, ‘I don’t know, what is marriage, how do I act like a wife?’” Johnson remembers today, many years later. “She said, ‘Well, I guess you’re just going to get married.’”

However, her case is one of thousand cases of child marriage. According to statistics, children 16 and under are still being married in Florida at a rate of one every few days.

Johnson and her family also attended a conservative Pentecostal church and that other girls of a similar age periodically also married. One girl said when she was 10 she was raped by both a minister and a parishioner and later gave birth to a daughter. There were all documents confirming her and her child’s age, but still, the judge approved the marriage to end the rape investigation, telling her, “What we want is for you to get married.”

And nevertheless, America prefers to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, like in Syria, calling it “defending freedom” rather than to change states’ laws and to protect American children from rape, coercion and molestation.

Today, Johnson is campaigning for a state law to stop underage marriage that has already become a norm in some states.

Please, help me to raise awareness to this issue. No one can remain indifferent to the problem of child molestation.

#StopChildMarriage  #StopChildAbuse

Seriously, that is so sickening. And politicians are actively working on keeping it that way. Anther quote from the article:

“In New Hampshire, a girl scout named Cassandra Levesque learned that girls in her state could marry at 13. So she set out to change the law.

A legislator sponsored Cassandra’s bill to raise the age to 18, and researchers found that two 15-year-olds had recently married in New Hampshire, along with one 13-year-old. But politicians resisted the initiative.

“We’re asking the Legislature to repeal a law that’s been on the books for over a century, that’s been working without difficulty, on the basis of a request from a minor doing a Girl Scout project,” scoffed one state representative, David Bates. In March the Republican-led House voted to kill the bill, leaving the minimum age at 13. (Legislators seem willing to marry off girls like Cassandra, but not to listen to them!)“

THIS IS BULL SHIT!!like comeone Florida!!!👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿

Mare: Why is your back all scratched up?
Cal: [flashbacks to when he chased a badger after Mare telling him not to]
Cal: I'm having an affair

RQ Characters as Boarding School Stereotypes

Cal: Jock™. Very tall, athletic, always has a football under his arms. leans against the walls/lockers. can be soft inside but no one knows because he can't show his soft side as the captain of the team.
Maven: the one always trailing behind Cal. not as good as him in sports but knows that to get closer to Cal girls will approach him first, until Cal rejects them and they're left with him. friends w/ guys, too, (looking at you thomas) but no one figures out the unsaid words bc they don't care enough.
Evangeline: that one bitchy girl with other girls always behind her, has her skirt rolled up very high, the uniform magically looks amazing on her, but only her
Ptolemus: that one blunt brute who responds to all comments by repeating the comment back in a mocking tone with a hideous face and somehow everyone laughs and think it's funny
Mare: the leader of the alternatives. uniform too big and worn but doesn't care. the person you ~know~ you shouldn't start a fight with.
Kilorn: the guy behind Mare. Everyone laughs at him during class when he says something stupid and he plays along as if he knew that it was a stupid question, but is deep down pretty hurt because he was being genuine.
Shade: kinda alternative bc of his sister but has a charming smile and a lot of girls are crushing on him (meaning that they giggle when he walks by but he's there to support Mare/rest of their family (also that the giggling girls drive Mare mad))
Farley: the one that gets freaking aNGRY when they tell her that her socks aren't in uniform ("but if the gUYS are allowed to wear WHITE socks then why aren't I??"). Ready to pick fights but not only with students, with anyone that dares to tell her to stop doing something. Not aggressive, but stands up for what she believes in.
Iris: the nonchalant art student. always chewing gum and has sunglasses pushed up to the top of her head. always drawing/working on art. kinda quiet but not bc she's shy, bc she doesn't need words to express herself (someone makes a snide comment about her and she just glares at them, chewing her gum, until she stared them down, ends with an eye roll).
Julian: Bookworm™
Sara: the quiet one that never says a word
(^^then it got serious 😂😂^^)
