They/Them Why have I done this to myself

Alright I haven't posted my art on here (or anywhere honestly) in a while but I have fan art and I want to share it lmao. This is fanart for The Files series by denimbeans on AO3 if you haven't read it go check it out its very fun highly recommend.

I didn’t color this and I also shaded it in a way I’ve not shaded before so forgive me if it looks wonky lol.  I might color it later but I go back to school tomorrow so if I do it'll be a while. Tap/click on the picture for better quality :)

idk how to put it into words but it means so much to me that there wasn’t any conflict in the ToH timeskip at the end. there was that One (1) gag with the Coven Heads trying to get at the Emperor’s throne, but that was super early on both in timeline and scene and after that there’s nothing like it at all, not even as a joke. there’s no Odalia scowling at her former family from any dark corners, nothing shown that would give the idea of imperfection. and the point isn’t that the Boiling Isles are perfect now, but that perfection is specifically what we as the audience were shown. it’s going to be okay, they’re saying.

we had to fight for this life, but we do not have to fight to keep it.

So I actually had an idea for a fic that is inspired by this by @cyrwrites and I got all excited so here it is. Also, warning, I haven’t watched Danny Phantom or any Batman stuff at all so… all of my information comes from random fics…

Danny is on the run from the Fentons/GIW with Jazz, with the vivisection scar. They go to Gotham. He looks remarkably similar to Jason when he died (in my mind, it’s been a couple of years since then and the Batfam haven’t found out he’s alive (sorta) again)

One of the Batfam sees him, and because none of them can be normal, they just casually kidnap him. They are even more convinced it’s Jason because they mistake the vivisection scar for an autopsy scar, plus Danny just gives off death vibes idk + Jason’s grave is, in fact, empty. Perhaps they also come to the misconception that this is Jason from the past, or he’s been de-aged and that’s why the doesn’t recognize them. They need to re-earn his trust, and they can’t just let him go, now can they. That’d be dangerous. And sad, they just need to wait, he’ll come around eventually and remember them/bond the same way as before.

Meanwhile on Danny’s end, Danny is weakened enough from the Fentons he can’t really use his powers. He tries to tell them he isn’t whoever this Jason guy is but they don’t believe him. He tries to escape, but without his powers he gets caught and they bring him back ‘for his safety’. Danny is upset and getting more traumatized by the minute. Jazz must be worried sick (she is. She is freaking out).

I also like the idea that Jazz full on becomes a rogue to more effectively and efficiently look for her baby brother. Like, a really powerful rogue. Because the Batfam kidnapped her brother. The Batfam can have a realization about this later.

Anyway, real Jason eventually comes back after maybe a month or two of Danny being kidnapped and after a lot of confusion and Danny being like ‘oh thank god does this mean you’ll let me go home now? Please my sister is probably worried sick’, Jason ends up pissed that they kidnapped a random, already traumatized kid, and refused to let him go. Jason takes the kid back to a safe house and gets the full story. Jazz is contacted, and they get a nice reunion. At this point maybe the Batfam show up and have their realization that this is the new rogue they’ve been having trouble with. They also realize that they Fucked Up.

they try to make amends, but Danny and Jazz are having none of it. Jason supports them. (maybe Jason and Jazz get together? I imagine them both to be like twenty ish at this point, and Danny like 15)

Anyway that’s my idea, I haven’t really ever done creative writing that wasn’t for a school project, but I like this so maybe I’ll actually try and write it.

TW: Decapitation (cutting the head of someone), brief mention of blood

Imagine Danny going to Gotham and just got overwhelmed by the amout of vegenceful spirits there. There is a reason why ghosts at Amity Park got spooked when they heard "Gotham" and poor Danny had underestimated (or overestmiated himself) the city.

It took him waking from the daze, one hand holding the blood drippling head of the Joker and the other hand holding the knife, while the Joker's body gone cold. In front of many people, including its vigilantes.

That Danny realized he is basically fucked.

DP x DC Let Danny be Dumb

We like to use Danny to lore drop ghost stuff, but I want to direct your attention to something about our dear boy

Danny is dumb-of-ass

In the show, on a good day he doesn’t really know what’s going on. On a good day he’s “let’s make problems on purpose” and the rest of the time it’s more “make problems accidentally”

Let Danny have no clue what’s going on. Let Danny look at something ghostly, shrug, then poke it with a stick. Let him accidentally make things worse by just rushing into things

I’m not saying make him an idiot, but let him act without thinking or knowledge of the situation. Let him do things that make sense to him but in retrospect is a terrible idea

Let him get in his own way, especially if you want to make him OP

There’s narrative use to it and it can make for some funny situations. Let him try and stop a ritual only to make something come through uncontrolled because he ruined the bind and not the summoning. Let him have to fist fight a tencled monstrosity why Constantine is trying desperately to banish C’thuluh’s baby cousin. Let Batman give him the disappointed dad stare because he just rushed in

Let Danny do the less than optimal option, and let him act dumb and confused in certain situations. I’m not saying he’s an idiot but he doesn’t make good choices

My favorite is having him be high intelligence low wisdom so you get best of both worlds lmao

I absolutely adore Hakodad fics because I feel like the thought process is basically “what if Zuko had another father figure and three more uncles and two additional siblings and also a cute emotional support animal because our baby deserves it?”

don't forget during the WGA strike that animation is not covered under the WGA deals and as a result animation has gotten the shortest possible end of the stick in under-staffing, under-paying, and generally turning the field into gig employment.

Batman becomes Deified

Based on This Post about Batman being accidentally turned into a God by the people of Gotham’s belief

So, if this was the case, I feel like some of his fellow godly teammates would notice and/or comment on it. But since they assume he already knows, they never really directly state that Batman is a God.

Diana would just say something like “It is a good idea for Batman to take care of the hostages on this mission, all things considered”, and Batman thinks it’s just a dig at his so called “adoption addiction” sinc emost of the hostages are kids.

Or Captain Marvel says “It’s an honor to meet you Mr Batman sir! Never really get to meet other people like me!” and Batman thinks it’s because he’s the only Hero from Faucett City, and he’s excited to meet another Hero

Or even Constantine making jokes like, “Would you let me off the hook if I sold you my soul” and Batman thinks it’s a joke but Constantine is being entirely serious about this, since Batman is a God and he could definitely take a persons soul.

And also, the day he joins the League the amount of people who think he’s a God skyrockets. There’s no way a normal guy would be on the same team with the likes of Wonder Woman and Superman without being a God himself. That point is proven even further when Captain Marvel, another God, joins the team.

Then one day, Clockwork drops in and tells Batman that he wants him to take care of Danny, because he needs somebody who can take care of both of his sides. Since Batman used to be a Human, he would be able to relate to Danny in that regard.

And Batman is just like “What the hell do you mean ‘Used to be Human’, what happened to me!?”

And after he finds out that he is a Minor God of Protection and Children, his full powers come to light.

He rushes to the League, and tells them that he has somehow attained Godhood. And Diana  and Shazam are confused, saying “What, did you not know? You’ve been a Minor God since I met you”

And Constantine is laughing his ass off that Batman legitimately did not know he was a God.

And the chaos that would ensue from that would be hilarious.

i hate when theres a post where i agree w almost everything then theres a sentence i absolutely despise sneaked in the middle of it like. fuck you now i cant reblog any of that 😑

I love the idea that Danny is the oldest of the heroes (being like centuries old) but bc he’s half dead he doesn’t age physical or mental so like no one believes he’s the oldest.

I feel like he had one traumatising experience in the 1600s or something where he asked someone who Shakespeare was and they got all “*gasp* U DONT KNOW SHAKESPEARE. HAVE U BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK?!?!” So always keeps up to date with modern times better than most people in there 30s do. Which u know sells the fact that no one believes he’s as old as he is.

And bc ghost and cameras don’t mix there’s no photo proof of him. The only evidence he was around r what most people now write off as just myths and ledges

And danny being danny always forgets to mention how old he is so than u get situations like-

Danny: *says some random historical fact*

JL: how do u know that??

Danny: I got bored so read about it in some library

Batman: I’ve already searched for any book with that information, there isn’t one. The only one that had that was the library of Alexandria

Danny: yeah that was the place!!

JL: 0-0

Danny: it was a real shame when it burnt down. It took ages before I found another library I liked.

Definitely not your clone

Danny moved to Gotham to complete his university studies. They had great programs and scholarships. Unfortunately this put him on the radar of the Waynes (the ones in charge of his scholarship), who became extremely paranoid when they noticed the black hair and blue eyes.

They collected a DNA sample (ignoring Barbara's protests that not everyone with that hair and eye color was a clone), his sample was found to be corrupted but tested positive for someone registered in the Batcomputer. It just didn't recognize who.

Of course, they suspected the coincidence was because of Bruce. Danny was unaware of any of this and continued with his studies. Traveling to the Realms from time to time. None of the bats were able to catch him after collecting the sample, it seemed that the boy was more paranoid than they were.

Ironically, he wasn't a clone of any of the Waynes. He was a clone of Alfred Pennyworth, whose sample had been collected during his time in the British service, and later stolen by the Fentons (out of curiosity, rather than crime).

Not that they were going to find that out anytime soon, but the fact that the halfa had more common sense than all of them should have given them a clue. Besides, he did know how to communicate.
