Just finished the Breakdown™️ episode (5x13) and I feel like clawing at my walls tbh. The way Chris’ immediate response is to call Buck, and the way Buck’s face changes when he hears ‘Dad, dad, dad!’, because that’s Eddie, HIS Eddie, and HIS kid. And then how he rushes in, first thing is to calm Chris,,, he puts his hands on each side of his face that’s how you console YOUR child, not your best friend’s child, and then knocks on the door and instead of saying “Eddie it’s Buck,” he says “Eddie it’s me,” because Eddie would only ever expect that ‘me’ to be Buck. Hen, Chim, Bobby, they’d announce their names….
And then he forces the door open bc he’s so worried, and he sees the wall and the glass, and his voice quivers and “E-Eddie?” Because what if he hurt himself ???? What would he do then????
And he hears him cry and he’s ofc devastated but at least he’s alive y’know? And he rushes to his side and kneels, and his eyes soften at the sight of a sobbing Eddie and he asks very calmly what’s going on and idk about you guys but what I saw was Buck physically restraining himself from hugging him bc he KNOWS it would make things worse but he wants to comfort him so BAAAAADLY. And then Eddie asks how’s Chris and Buck says “he’s still scared out of his mind… he’s not the only one.” PLEASE
