If we can learn one thing from conservatives it is that the point of politics isn’t to find some imaginary middle ground with your opponents. It is to beat your opponents. 

the weirdest political position in recent years has been people who’ve said “nonviolent protest is the way”, but when BLM organized protests that were nonviolent but inconvenient to them they decided that protesting at all is bad and the only acceptable political action is voting, donating to your political party of choice and @ ing politician’s twitter accounts.

First of all, having a certain opinion doesn’t automatically make me a part of a group. Second of all, liberalism doesn’t have to resonate with socialism either.

I never said you were part of a group. I said that you were conservative (ie, someone who has traditional political views, who uses conservative talking points like speaking derisively of women’s studies, somebody who embraces capitalism.)  Also, I have read your last sentence several times and cannot make sense of it. I think you might have meant a word other than “resonate”? If you mean that liberals aren’t socialists either, then yeah--that’s true. Scratch a liberal and you get an apologist for the worst excesses of capitalism. But I do not understand what you mean to convey by saying this...
