On a hot, sunny day, a central plains Kul’imi nomad rests in the shade of a tree-like plant. Beside them rests their beast of burden, a domesticated Ag’t’iqi’fkar with a rare melanistic coloring. It is not yet the Age of Alignments, so any nomadic Kul’imi that passes through a settled individual’s territory risks the threat of violence, or even death. So the normally nocturnal travel by day, hoping to find safe, unclaimed land by nightfall.
It’s a bit inconvenient, then, when one of the straps breaks away from where it is clipped to the Ag’t’iqi’fkar’s saddle, forcing this individual to stop and repair it. Once they finish the repairs and tack up their mount, they’ll be back on the trail.
