Christmas Confessions

It was the christmas party at Zaofu and everyone was there, mostly because Bolin managed to "convince" Tenzin to let Opal be with her family during the holidays; Opal was with her mother, Suyin, next to them Bolin was trying to stop Pabu from eating the desserts, Mako was sitting with Prince Wu, after the whole Kuvira thing they had become quite close, Tenzin, who was promised "a nice and peaceful evening with her wife" was now with Zhu Li trying to stop his youngest son, Meelo, and her husband, Varrick, from jumping through the window with the flyings suit that they sneacked in, even Lin was there having a nice a peaceful evening with Kya, even if she swear she was on duty protecting the Avatar from the reformed exconvict Kuvira who was clearly bored to death in a corner.

The Avatar on the other hand was nowhere to be found, she was too busy searching for her girlfriend that at some point had left the party, she finally found her sitting in a bench on the garden looking at the mountains.

"Hey there, where were you? I was talking with Jinora when you suddenly disappeared" said Korra as she sat next to Asami.

"Needed some air" mumbled the green-eyed while she leaned on Korra's shoulder.

Korra took a good look at her; Asami looked tired, her breath smelled a bit funny, she had a faint blush on her face and her eyes were red, either she had been crying or she was very sleepy, maybe both. She finally noticed an almost empty green bottle on the ground, she grabbed it and took a sip from it.

"Woooow" was all she managed to said while making a face, this was definitely stronger than anything that they were giving at the party "Where did you even got this?"

"Bumi" said simply Asami with closed eyes. "Figures" thought Korra as she put down the bottle and put her arm around Asami's shoulder, then without being able to control herself she asked with a smile "So how drunk are you?"

"M'not drunk" answered with a pout the girl without opening her eyes

"Riiiight" said Korra, she wished she could take a picture of this, Asami was the only one from team Avatar who never got drunk; Bolin and her were the ones who usually get wasted, even Mako had gotten tipsy after some particularly long patrol nights. "Mind telling me then why are you here alone with a bottle?"

"Kuvira" said the Sato girl simply, now this surprised Korra, she knew for a fact that Kuvira hadn't even talked to Asami, She hadn't talked to anyone except Suyin actually and after that she had been sitting alone for the rest of the night.

"Why? Did she said anything while I wasn't there? Did you saw her hurting anyone? Should I go back there..."

"No" interrupted Asami gently "She didn't do anything, she was just there"

"I don't get..."

"She's there but my father isn't" Asami explained while getting closer to Korra hugging her "She's there with all of us like she didn't try to kill us, like she didn't try to kill you, like she didn't killed my father"

"Asami I..."

"Please I don't wanna talk about it... I'm sorry I left you, I didn't mean to; I like to be with you"

Korra felt awful, she knew why Asami felt like that with Kuvira around, heck it took her years to be able to face Zaheer and even though he was in chains it still scared her, Asami was one of the bravest and most badass woman she knew but still she couldn't imagine how she must have felt when she saw Kuvira just freely walking around with only Suyin's promised that she had changed.

She slowly got up and with her girlfriend still in her arms she took her to their room, It was already a bit late so thankfully that meant they could skip the rest of the party. Once they were back in their room Korra helped Asami to get changed from her red dress to her night clothes.

This was honestly something new for the Avatar, Asami was usually the one that took care of her when she was drunk but she was fine with this, she will always take care of Asami.

Finally with the lights off, Korra went to bed next to Asami and even though she thought her girlfriend had fallen sleep she still told her "I like to be with you too" and closed her eyes as she hold her ready to go to sleep after a long day

"I love you"

This immediately got Korra wide awake, she was sure she heard that right; her girlfriend Asami Sato said she loved her!!! sure she was wasted and half sleep but whatever, she still said it. Should she say it back? She wanted to say it back but judging by the calm breathing of her girlfriend this time she really had fallen sleep, "It's fine" Korra thought "Tomorrow I'll tell her"

The next morning Asami woke up with a huge headache "This" she thought as she tried to get up "This is why I don't drink" How did she even managed to get back to her room? And how was she in her nightgown? The answer came in the form of a tea on her desk "Korra" she figured, where was she anyway? She knew she could always be herself with Korra but still, she hoped she hadn't made a fool of herself too much in front of her girlfriend last night.

Last she remembered she saw Kuvira looking at her and Korra, then on her way out she bump into a very drunk Bumi who dropped a bottle on the floor and then... Who knows, maybe she was in the gardens?

After getting dressed and drinking her tea, She decided that it was better to just get breakfast and hope for the best. On her way to the dining room She met with Bolin and Opal. Bolin immediately ran to her and gave her a big bear hug "Well Done Asami!!! Congrats!!!" He screamed as he squeezed the life out of Asami "Bolin put her down" Opal said with a frown even though she had a small smile on her lips, once she had gathered enough air she tried to ask what was that about but Opal had already dragged away the earth bender.

Well she had no idea what she did last night but at least it seems it was something good, with that in mind she resume her walk, she meets Bumi who's coming out the dining room and gives a big grin "Hey kiddo for what I heard it seems you only needed a bit of liquid courage huh? But listen I would really appreciate if we kept the fact that I brought my liqueur out of Tenzin's ear, okay? Thanks Kid and Hey Congrats" he endend with a big friendly smack in her back that almost made her fall, this kinda of worried her, why would she ever need "liquid courage"

Entering the dining room she was met with everyone looking at her; Mako, Wu, Pema and Suyin were giving her knowing looks meanwhile the Kids, Kya and Varrick were all smilling almost smugly even Kuvira, Tenzin and Lin seemed to know what was going on.

"Hum Good morning every one, have any of you seen Korra?" Apparently this was the wrong thing to ask because now everyone was smilling, she honestly wasn't in the mood for this, she might be good at hiding it but she still had a hangover.

"I believe I saw her on the training field, dear" said Suyin calmly. With a nod and a small smile Asami left and went to the training field in search of her girlfriend, she found her throwing rocks a dummys. Once the Avatar noted her presence she stopped and give her the same smug smile that everyone was giving her.

"Okay, What's going on? What have I done that Is so funny?" She said while crossing her arms.

"Hello to you too, Honey" Korra said still smilling "How are you feeling today? How's the head?"

"It hurts a bit but so far so good, would you mind answering my question?"

"You haven't done anything funny, no one else but me knows you were drunk last night, I swear" she said as she got closer and put her arms around her girlfriend. "I'm glad you're here though, I like to be with you"

This for some reason rang a bell but Asami couldn't point out why, It was a very simple phrase, one that they both had said to each other before so why did it felt different this time "Okay? You know I like being with you too Korra" she answered with a frown. This made Korra laugh and she decided to end Asami's suffering so she got closer and whispered "Well just so you know I love you too by the way"

Asami immediatly froze in her place as a bunch of memories came back to her like a bucket of cold water; Kuvira, her father, Bumi's bottle, the garden, Korra, the room, Korra, the bed "Korra, I..." She didn't know what to say she didn't regret saying that, not at all but she always imagined it different, perfect or at the very least with both of them sober. And there was the whole Kuvira and her father business, she didn't wanna talk about it, she didn't even knew why it affected her so bad, she knew from the begining that Kuvira was gonna be there so what was the deal with her. She braced herself for and uncomfortable talk with Korra but she never said anything she just kept smilling smugly "What?" Asked the raven-haired girl.

"You said it first" was all response she got. It took her an entre minute to figure out what she meant; ever since their return from their vacation on the spirit world everyone, including them, had a game (In some cases it got to the point of placing bets) about who would say "I love you" first.

"Seriously? That's what you are thinking about?" She asked incredulously, Korra only shrugged with a hand on her neck. She knew Asami didn't felt like talking about yesterday so she wouldn't push her but she'll make sure to be there when Asami were ready.

Asami gave her a thankful smile and said "I love you" before giving her a small kiss on the lips. They stayed liked that with their eyes closed until Asami finally asked "What exactly did you told everyone?"

"Just that you said you love me, don't worry about it"

"I'll definitely will worry about it later"

First meeting.

Korra was not having a good day.

First she didn't set her alarm last night so she was late again to the class of Mrs. Suyin, something that she usually let it pass but since it was the third time in the week and she had forgotten her homework she got detention and of course Principal Tenzin had to be informed about it which earn her another half an hour of being lectured and thanks to that completely waste of time she had to text Bolin that she wouldn't make it to the soccer practice.

She decided to take Naga for a walk so she could take her mind off of all the messages she was getting from Mako about how she was “Not taking the team seriously”. She had stopped in the park to buy an ice cream when Naga started chasing a squirrel dragging Korra through the park until she finally bumped into someone and fell on top of them.

“Shit! I´m so sorry I-I…” She stopped mid sentence because she was met with the most beautiful green eyes she'd ever seen. The woman on the floor was probably the prettiest girl in the entire world; she had jet black hair, a cute little nose and what seems like very soft red lips. She was also looking very surprised at Korra until she finally smiled and said “You know, not that I don't like this but you might want to get off before we drag more attention to ourselves, darling”.

That´s when Korra reacted and started getting up, taking note that they indeed had a little bit of public that start to scatter around after the death glare that she sent them, she quickly helped the girl to get up while she was weighting her chances; she was definitely around her age and she did call her darling so it wouldn't be so weird if Korra makes a move right? “So” she started giving her the cockiest smile she could “Do you have a name or should I just call you snazzy sweetie?” she winced mentally, of all the things she could have said she really went for snazzy sweetie? That sounded totally different in her mind.

Surprisingly the girl just gave a soft laugh, which quickly became the official favorite sound of Korra “Name´s Asami, what about you ´sweetie´? How should I call you?” she asked in a very mocking way while she took a step closer.

“K-Ko-Korra, I´m Korra… sorry about that, Naga can be very reckless sometimes” she said pointing to the white dog that was sitting and watching them like she had done nothing wrong. “She´s cute” point out Asami “Guess it's true what they say about dogs and their owners” This got Korra blushing while she looked away, she really liked this girl. Feeling a little bit bolder again she asked “And how can I repay you for the little accident? A coffee?, Some Ice cream?, My number?”.

Asami gave her a flashing smile “How about a date?, Yue Bay´s Arena? I heard there will be a good match this Friday night” Wait, this girl like sports? Definitely a keeper thought Korra “Of course, but I'm still gonna need your number though” She said pulling her phone out, Asami instead of telling her the number, took the phone and started to dial it, when she was done she send herself a text so she also had Korra´s number “I have to go but I´ll see you this Friday, Korra” she handed the phone with a wink and started to walk away. Korra just looked at awe at her, when she finally snap out of it she looked at her phone and smile at the number saved as “Asami <3 ;)”.

Maybe today wasn't such a bad day after all.
