Yes it does happen.
I've noticed in a lot of your creature designs, you like to incorporate weird mouth bits, particularly ones with four jaws (like with the Birrin, or some beasties from Below Zero). Was there a particular inspiration for this? Could you tell us about it?
I find it aesthetically pleasing and elegant. I think it links back to inspirations in my early life from Dune sandworms and the Graboids from Tremors.

Its fine, if that is the goal of the artwork, though its possible if not used sensitively it could feed into concepts of human prejudice. I prefer not to use it myself.

There were transferrable diseases, which can be solved by curing the meat correctly.

Their stress dreams are related to early life stressors as with humans. That, as with us, depends on their cultural context.

I have no idea why it started, as I was a kid at the time. But it used to be focused on the idea of humans invading an alien world, like Avatar, and the birrin were more humanoid.
did the birrin ever have their robots in their everyday lives or did they just stay in labs and only get used rarely
There were AIs like ours, and some basic robots. Mostly they were specialist machines.

Birrin vision isnt as good as ours, BUT, they can see in multiple directions at once and are very movement sensitive.
Will there be an exploration of the civil rights of the giants? I'd imagine it would be akin to certain mental health issues.
Their relationship to the birrin is complex and varied a lot through time. I expect to explore it.
