Cuddly Rigor Mortis, aka artist Kristen Tercek (previously featured here), just opened a solo exhibition of new paintings, entitled Happy Food, at Gallery 1988 (East) in Los Angeles. As the name of the show implies, Tercek’s latest work features an delightful variety of what may well be the happiest anthropomorphic food we’ve ever seen.

These foods are so happy that they’re actually dancing, celebrating, and jumping for joy. Some even found food-sized carnival rides. Is it simply the joy of being food? The joy of being eaten? Not being eaten? Of eating other anthropomorphic food? Just caught a really good movie or had a great dream? All of the above? These are the questions we ask ourselves here at the Geyser of Awesome.
