Let's stop aggrandizing it by calling it "artificial intelligence," and begin calling it what it really is: plagiarism software.
There is no artificial intelligence. It's not creating anything, just copying existing work by existing artists and changing it enough to skirt copyright laws: there's a reason why everything is all "in the style of Wes Anderson" or "in the style of Ernest Hemingway." So don't say "an artist generated these images using artificial intelligence," but rather "someone made this using plagiarism software."
Don't say "a marketing company utilized artificial intelligence to make this ad," but rather "created by a marketing company using plagiarism software."
By allowing the companies making the plagiarism software to call it "artificial intelligence" or "text algorithms," you're giving them newspeak to hide what they're making, and what their users are doing: it's just plagiarism. Nothing else.
(ironically I use Google lens to copy the text for text ID like this)
do you ever just
happy 10 year anniversary to this game changer thank u @joscribbles for your services
can’t believe it’s been 10 years since i learned to always put my name on my art, even if it’s just a shitpost, bc u never know what’s going to blow up
anyway here’s a signed version if you wanna use it to shut up people who are trying to tell you their Opinions
Listen, if you interrupt me with a new task while I’m midway through another, you aren’t allowed to be mad when I switch to the new task immediately. You clearly thought the new task was important enough to interrupt me with it!
I am just a little pikmin! You’re the one with the whistle!!
‘You need to learn to prioritise’ no YOU do! You’re the one dishing out tasks!! All I need to do is take things back to the onion!
I'm gonna make a post with all of the 'stick figure violence' adjacent images I have. if anyone knows any similar ones I'm missing PLEASE SEND ME THEM. I have an unhealthy obsession with them.
oh yeah here’s one I made a while back
I will be adding more in the next reblog
More incoming :)
I'm not done yet
There might be still more (also i may upload some "cleaner versions" of other stuff)
And that's it! You can reblog now :) I may also have semi-related stuff but that's all the pseudo-ragecomic reaction images i have
A brief appreciation of Peter Falk in Columbo, by Joe Dator in The New Yorker
I need to watch Columbo.
Well, the other reason is that it’s all now available online to stream on Peacock. I am one of the people who mainlined all the seasons in about five weeks. I fucking love that show.
I stan Columbo.
Columbo is my ult.
Just biding my time really. I finally finished my chronological viewing of Murder She Wrote.
Bi-monthly reminder that the full series is also available on the Internet Archive, free of charge: https://archive.org/details/columbo
Nintendo putting out a surprise update for the 3ds--a console they no longer produce and have as of this year since ceased supporting altogether--which has the sole purpose of fucking over people who've hacked the console is yet another example on the huge pile of examples that Nintendo has a frankly bizarre amount of absolute, nonsensical, self-destructive loathing for anyone who doesn't immediately drop Old Thing in favor of buying New Thing
i would, can, and WILL die for sydnee mcelroy
For the record this is missing the post where he explains that she didnt go in specifically to harrass the worker. She went in there just to inform something along the lines of " i know you dont have control of this but the sign is misleading and I need to tell your manager" but then the worker started preaching the "true science" and girl had the green light to go to war from there
Also in case people still don't know, Sydnee is a certified medical Doctor
For reference, the federal minimum wage would have you earning roughly on average $1,256.66 a month
It’s recommended your rent only be 30% of your total budget, so with an average monthly rent of $1,827 that would mean your average renter’s monthly income should ideally be $6,090
That would be roughly $35.13 hourly or $73,080 annually
However, the average renter’s household income is only $42,500 annually or $20.43 hourly (as of 2019 according to the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey)
This means either rent prices are too unsustainably high and price gouging or wages are too unsustainably low and predatory
Or both
(Hint: it’s both)
not to mention the maximum amount of money a person can make on disability is just under 800$ a month. 800. not 1k but 800$. u will 100% need assistance to afford rent anywhere. and the amount only goes down the more roommates u have. u cannot afford to live anywhere in the country on disability alone. and if u try to earn more money by working u lose funds from ur disability. the more u work the less disability u have the more u need to work etc. its beyond predatory its impossible to live in this country
My boss is having us all pitch in to do office work while we're understaffed for the spring season, but instead of doling out orders she asked us what responsibilities we'd like to have, enjoy having, or be comfortable doing. It means getting more hours, which I'm kind of desperate for these days.
So I said I'd do anything that involves design (making info cards for clients, designing yearbooks, cropping photos). And she said cool. Done. You get those things, I'll let you know when we need them.
Time came last week where she needed me to do 15 separate info card designs, each with it's own qr code to the gallery, unique passcode, and I had to make it look cute but readable.
It took me about 5 hours. I came up to her desk at the end of the day with a thumb drive. She asked me how they were coming.
"This is them." I handed her the usb.
"You're done already?"
"Yeah."
"How did you do them so fast?"
"You asked me to do a task that plays on my strengths and that I enjoy doing. This is what happens when you put people in roles that suit them."
"If I'd tried to do it, it would have taken three days!"
I have a degree in a design discipline that emphasizes completing a large number of nearly identical drawings very quickly, and my side hustle requires me to be my own PR team. Making a bunch of quarter-page flyers out of clip art is something I've had to do for free and yall just paid me to do it.
Onion headline: Manager is Accidentally Good at Job
Local Manager Discovers Specialization Not So Bad, Actually
I think it's so funny how we bred JOBS into dogs. I have two shih tzus and they were bred to be lap dogs. All they care about is looking cute and cuddling with people. Meanwhile my grandma has a border collie and that dog needs to feel so useful all the time, he acts like he will pass away if he doesn't have a job to do constantly
On one hand this is extremely fucking funny, but on the other hand, it really boggles my mind how many people punish their dogs for just… doing the thing they were bred to do.
Your husky isn’t “hyperactive”, it’s bred to pull sleds for 8 hours straight and you have it in a 400 sq ft yard.
Your English sheepdog isn’t “pushy”, it’s bred to herd sheep, and you have neither to space nor the herd to allow it.
Your terrier isn’t “nippy”, it’s bred to kill rats and your hamster looks a hell of a lot like one.
Your Catahoula isn’t “mean to animals”, it’s bred to hunt any and all animals smaller than it, and you didn’t acclimate it to your cat.
Your Lhasa Apso isn’t “yappy”, it’s bred to bark at any tiny noise and alert watchmen to intruders
Like Jesus Christ, if you can’t provide an environment where your dog can’t fulfill its literal life purpose, maybe?? Don’t get that dog??? And if you do, maybe know the breed characteristics so you can redirect those traits into more constructive outlets????
Both your most common doodle's parts (labra and golden) want to hunt and retrieve water birds so the best suggestion I can give y'all is congratulations on your new duck hunting hobby.
