is it just me or is anyone else bothered by ppl’s ideal endgame being the kids grow up to replace the adults as leaders of the survey corps. like afaik the survey corps is kind of not even part of the whole government/military structure since theyre basically criminals now. also just why would you want that. nothing would change. it’d still be the same ole survey corps doing the same ole shit just with new leaders. its too static and i’d be much more interested to see a new system in place
ways to make it through the wall
I got a new tablet. I defaulted to anxious/annoyed M. Bodt, flowers, halos, and AESTHETIC.
Heavily Inspired by flecksofpoppy ‘s fics and her general aesthetic, especially To Everything there is a Season , mainly in regards to Jinae Please go read her fics. They will change ur life.

im many years late but sasha and connie in raincoats are cute so i stuffed jean and marco in them too
im literally jean so if u have any questions about jean please i, jean, will happily answer them for you
i rly dont want ot make it sound like i think jean looks down on anyone for being able to kill people or thinks ppl who can do that are bad people. it’s really hard to talk about jean’s feelings wrt killing and his internal conflict about wanting to be good and do what’s right bc it always comes across sounding like he holds other people to the same standards as he holds himself
i definitely don’t think jean thinks of his friends as bad people, or that he thinks anyone who can kill is a bad person. i think he really is harder on himself about that partly because he doesn’t have a very positive view of himself and maybe possibly that he views his own actions as going against what he wants to be but everyone else is simply doing what they have to. like, if he really did feel that killing makes everyone a bad person no matter what, his relationships with a lot of characters would be much different.
im not wording this very well but what i’m really trying to say is jean’s feelings about killing people are more an internal personal thing rather than a moral code that he believes everyone should stick to.
If it makes you feel better, Jean had some very evident development in ch 70. I'm sure Isayama wouldn't ruin Jean's character like that at this point if he's still putting so much development into him. It would be a blow to the series if he wasted such character potential
yeah i mean like. hes said he really likes jean so i think im just being paranoid thinking that he’ll drop all his development.
hopefully he doesn’t take it in a bad direction though like. so far im pleased w how jean’s turning out (even tho i kind of wish there were more chapters centered around him but like. thats just bc im biased.) so im automatically like how long do we have before this goes wrong
What would change his character trajectory?
idk just like. changing his arc from what it is to something totally different. the way i see his character it’s a lot about realizing his own potential and value and making choices on his own and wanting to be a good person in a situation where he’s always having to do things that he feels make him not a good person.
so like, say instead of going the route i think would be the best for jean and make the most sense isayama decides that jean will ultimately become cold and indifferent to killing. It would a) be disappointing to see one of my favorite characters be shoehorned into a trope im really sick of and b) make no sense when jean’s character arc has already kind of. been the opposite of that where he went from only outwardly caring about himself and only really working hard so he can have it easy to where he is now, really really trying to do what’s right and clearly very conflicted and wanting to be a good person. that’s what i mean from changing the trajectory of his arc.
i’m also afraid isayama will just kind of. never conclude his development and let him become sort of a tertiary character and never really give him any more spotlight at all. idk maybe im just worrying over nothing here but i have a hard time trusting isayama with a character i care about and relate to so much and im honestly shocked at how pleased i’ve been with jean’s development so far so im just always waiting for disappointment
I think the last one you read was 67, based on your description. So 68 is good, 69 is about Levi :/ but also has some major Historia scenes at the end and 70 has lots of Jean!
I MIGHT HAVE TO CATCH UP yeah i kind of dropped off it for a while bc i saw there was a levi chapter and was like nah but if there’s historia stuff and a lot of jean i might just get caught up again
