🎵I wanna feel all that love and emotion🎵

@agrebel18

aggie💖 she/her💞girlflux 😁 NOT SPOILER FREE BUT MOSTLY LEAK FREE!!!

hey, welcome to my account!!! friendly advisory that I swear a lot and type in cap a lot!! I’m a food, music, and tv show/movie/books/comic enthusiast as well <3

I like to draw, so if I ever post any of my doodles or an art masterpiece, it’ll be under this tag: #aggie’s art

I also have some info and ramblings of my ocs and story/WIP under this tag: #oc stuff

I ALSO like to be into random shenanigans with mutuals (but not that often) so I tag it with #mutuals stuff

I don’t really care who follows me and such, and I’m not making a DNI because those don’t really work, but PLEASE leave if you’re a proshipper or anti-anti, yall are gross!

lastly, my ask box is always open!!!

I know that the mutant mayhem movie doesn’t come out til next month, but if you’re planning to watch it, PLEASE GO TO THE MOVIE THEATER AND GIVE IT LOVE WHEN IT DOES, because APPARENTLY conservatives are (not surprisingly) gonna try to hate bomb it like they’re trying to do to the new Barbie movie and what they did with strange world!

the problem with autism is sometimes you want to do something (brave) but you need someone to gently walk you through each step so you know what will happen. and people don’t like doing that

Thinking abt some athletic coach who said autistic people on steroids were unstoppable athletes and said something like, "Sad as it is, they haven't found a way to make people autistic but it would make my life easier."

Fascinated by this idea tbh

Love both of these as concepts

In the wake of the dual strike I would like to remind everyone that "hollywood elites" is an antisemitic dogwhistle and if you are referring to company executives call them executives

When your brain keeps coming up with new characters for your WIP:

Goncharov shouldn't have been as big a meme as it was. The Goncharov meme is bad, especially for anyone with any unreality issues. Dead serious.

Yeah, you do make a valid point. Unreality memes are fun, but there are people with genuine unreality issues that were affected by the Goncharov trend.

That being said, I do think that a lot of the fan works - art, writing, shitposts, etc. - inspired by that meme were really fun, and clearly took a lot of effort - and the results were super impressive. So I think the fact that it served as a creative outlet for so many people shouldn't be discounted either.

But you're right, it wasn't a great experience for people with those issues with unreality - but my takeaway from that was the importance of content warnings and tagging things properly, not that the meme itself - or just unreality content as a whole - was bad.

I followed the Goncharov tag when it was at its peak, and I constantly saw people begging other users to tag their posts as #unreality - and while plenty of people were doing that, it felt like just as many weren't.

I don't believe for a second that people were seeing those posts and just choosing to ignore them, because one thing I have learned over the past 3-4 years is that the vast majority of people on this website do genuinely care about the wellbeing of others; and I know that for a fact because a) all you guys have been so supportive of me up until now (<3), and b) because I spent so much time in my shithead teen years sending fucking horrific abuse to those same kind, genuine people, and the way everyone rallied around each other against my scumbag ass is a testament to that kindness.

So I think it's far more likely that they simply weren't seeing those posts, and just didn't know that unreality content can be a trigger for some people - because I genuinely didn't either until the Goncharov meme came around and people started talking about it. It's the same way I didn't know until I started this blog that the things I originally wrote in the master post were triggering people's OCD to the point where they had to blacklist the URL.

At the time Goncharov was a thing, a lot of people were saying that people making content for it should've just 'educated themselves' and then they would've known to tag stuff '#unreality', so it was their fault their work was affecting people with unreality issues - but personally I think that just wasn't fair, because honestly you can't know to educate yourself on an issue that you don't even know exists in the first place. You first need to know what it is you don't know before you can actually learn about it and fill that gap.

I have no idea if any of that answered your question because I'm drunk out of my fucking mind, so I don't know if any of this made sense, and I probably won't remember it in the morning - so:

tl;dr - I don't agree that the Goncharov meme was bad, but I think it did highlight the importance of content warnings and tags.

...unless you thought the meme was just unfunny, which is a different issue - that's an entirely subjective opinion, but I can totally respect it. And that's coming from someone who learnt last week that they apparently Goncharov'd themselves on at least three separate occasions, and has yet to fully recover from that revelation.

Anyway, I hope that all made some kind of sense...

...you guys want a poll?

why is “report hate speech” not one of the default options with “report spam” instead of “report sexually explicit material”. i’m not a cop so i don’t care if people post hole & pole but i would love if i didn’t have to explain every time why it’s bad when there are nazis

The difference between a strike and a boycott is the focus of what is being withheald

In a strike the supply is being withheald because the workers aren’t producing whatever it is.  It works by having the masses demand what the companies cannot produce and therefore, if the company wants to continue providing whatever it is in order to continue making money, they have to listen to worker demands

In a boycott the demand is being withheald because the masses aren’t buying or engaging with whatever it is.  It works because companies, obviously, need to actually sell things in order to function.  The point is to make the company change something about a product in order to appeal to the masses again

That’s why you shouldn’t boycott when a strike is on (unless the union says so) because it kind of cancels out the strike.  If there is no demand then witholding supply is meaningless - again, unless the union says so, since that means they factored it into their industrial action plan and believe it would be beneficial

I know people want to help but the reaction to call for a boycott whenever there’s a strike just kind of…… doesn’t

i feel like there's a bit of a tendency in leftist circles to do the same thing conservatives do, and pine for an imaginary time period that never existed. except instead of like, ancient rome, or the 50s, a lot of people are weirdly fixated on like...the middle ages? or the hunter-gatherer days? or pirates? like people will try to be anti-capitalist and say "oh medieval peasants had better lives than we do" or "humans used to all live in small communities that took care of each other" and like. idk man id rather have vaccines and the ability to leave your abuser and the right to vote.

it's tempting to think that since things are bad, they must be uniquely bad. but there is no utopia in the past that we need to return to, no garden of eden we were cast out of with the advent of. idk the industrial revolution or whatever. we need to create a better future, not despair about an imagined past.

part of this is also the extremely reductive idea that like, White Men are the root of all evil in the world, and therefor pre-colonial cultures must have all been utopias. in reality, they were neither barbaric nor magically perfect, they were just people with their own flaws and virtues. it turns out people everywhere were and are basically the same. looking for the magic button that will make everything perfect again just distracts from the mundane and hard work of making things better.

i need you guys to just learn that i will happily delete a post reblogged from a weirdo but i NEED you guys to actually put the source of your claims in the ask or im just not gonna listen to you

Has anyone else noticed that as a society, we’re shamed for wanting to sleep? Sleeping in is bad, naps are only okay if they’re 20 minutes, you cant be tired unless you’re a <insert career/lifestyle choice here>, so on and so forth.

I mean, I think we all need to spread our blankets out, cuddle a pillow, and go to sleep. Everyone needs more of it, fuck this “it’s not productive” nonsense. It’s okay to sleep, it’s okay to want to sleep. You’re not lazy because of it.

Can we also stop with the one-upping about sleep. If someone tells you they’re tired because they only got six hours of sleep, please don’t immediately say “Oh that’s nothing! I only sleep three hours a night!”. Or “you don’t even know what tiredness is until you’ve done xyz thing!”

Just stop. We should all feel totally comfortable getting the amount of sleep we need. Be it four hours or 11.

Also, people who need 10 or 11 hours of sleep, or 12 or 14, do not need to do “extra” work in order to “earn” their sleep. Some people have less time and energy in their day to utilize. That is okay. Not a failure.

I need a lot of sleep. Part of it’s just who I am , part of it’s my disability. I get so many snotty comments about needing to sleep in longer when it’s not a moral issue, just a natural part of human variation.

I can’t say enough about the sickness of a society that shames people for wanting food and sleep.

Friendly reminder: even if to you the idea of living without a partner seems sad and lonely, if someone tells you they don't want a romantic or sexual partner, it's not a sad thing. It's a beautiful thing - it means they're living the life that will make them happy rather than abiding by societal expectations.

I think the reason Amphibia's seriousness is so shocking for the kind of media it is is bc unlike a lot of other similar cartoons it just. doesn't lean into the supervillain/supernatural element as much for the seriousness. like it does but when you look at it on a level of "okay when were the most serious bits" it's not ALL "super high stakes fight that leads to tragic moments", it's also "a 13 year old bully just tried killing himself on screen" it's "another 13 year old just revealed they kidnapped their closest friends for two seasons because they were lonely" it's "10 year old reveals that his parents died when he was younger and he didn't think he was allowed to miss them" it's "main protagonist openly says she didn't love herself" it's "main protagonist becomes next in line to be god of all creation because she chose to be kind" it's "main antagonist lets himself become nearly obliterated because he chose to believe in change and loss at the request of his long-dead love" it's "but of the things you let go you'd be surprised what makes its way back to you" essentially I'm saying that Amphibia is about humanity as it always has been

one of the awkward things about tumblr is how every popular post you make has a 20 percent chance of enchanting an extremely strange teenager to the point of obsession

going through a character tag like NO you don’t know him like i do oh i love this design this post contains filtered tags this post contains filtered tags he would NOT fucking say that this post contains filtered tags
