I love you all so so much I love us and who we are and I ask you: be kind to each other
has anybody seen my pet piece of paper. his name is walter he is very fragile but very adventurous. i should never have left the window open in my tenth story apartment
since i haven’t seen anyone make these, i decided to make complete versions of the rainbow flag and the meanings for each colour.
the original rainbow flag consists of the pink (sex) to violet (spirit) stripes, created in 1978 by gilbert baker. in 2017, he added the 9th stripe (lavender for diversity) at the top to the original (not the modern day 6-stripe version). the black and brown stripes at the top were added to the modern day version by philadelphia pride, also in 2017, to symbolize support for lgbt poc. the second black stripe at the bottom was made by aids activists during the beginning of the aids crisis to symbolize victory over aids; while this is important, another thing we must recognize is that leonard matlovich, an out gay man who died of aids, wanted us to remove this stripe after a cure is found and to burn that part. STAY SAFE!! [ID: the Gilbert Baker pride flag with the words “Happy pride to all those who are unable to celebrate openly and safely. You are loved and seen!” in all-caps black text over it. /end ID]
