Your eyes were watering with tears as you smiled at your best friend, Lauren. She looked ethereal, her long blonde hair was twisted back in an updo, her makeup was effortless and her wedding dress was something out of a fairytale.
You were bouncing Jude on your hip, as you beamed at her, trying your hardest not to let the tears spill down your cheeks as you didn’t want to ruin your makeup.
“Don’t you dare start, you’re going to set me off” She warned, as you nodded, blinking rapidly and focusing your attention on her son to distract yourself.
You truly were so happy for her though.
You had been best friends with Lauren since the pair of you had been partnered up for Food Tech in Year 8, over ten years ago. You’d shared all the highs and lows of life together. You were the one that had encouraged her to give Declan a chance when you guys had started college, and you’d been their number one supporter ever since. You had been together practically all your lives, and to share this day with her was something you cherished dearly.
You moved yourself out of the way as Lauren’s mother and her family flitted over to her wanting to take pictures with the bride as you walked over to the window, glancing down below at the guests who were beginning to arrive.
