Why do white people act like they get to determine whether or not race has anything to do with an issue?? Y’all are the absolute least qualified to be making that judgment and the last people who should even be making that judgement in the first place. Y’all need to remove the phrases “this isn’t about race”, “your race has nothing to do with it”, “not everything is about race” or any other phrases that convey those ideas from your fucking vocabularies all together.

If you have ever said any of these things to a poc before, know that you were automatically wrong about everything else you were saying or the point you were trying to make.

Y’all don’t read books, don’t go outside, don’t workout, don’t eat vegetables and only use the internet for social media and porn.

I see why your lives always in turmoil and burning all the sage in the world ain’t gonna help, so stop wasting your time

Daniel Kaluuya making Robin Roberts flustered. That’s it, that’s the post.

He really pulled a “oh? What would you do to me if you were here” line and I…:

You ever think about how old people have no idea what “survivor bias” is, and take full credit for being excellent out of things where they lucked out?

“Back in my day we didn’t have any of these childhood protective things, we were smart enough not to do stupid shit on our own!” Except your little neighbour, who got the funniest idea at the age of seven, and got his skull pierced when he slipped?

“Back in my day nobody got divorced, we stuck together and fixed our problems!” What about your cousin, who was slowly killed by her husband because she had nowhere to escape him?

“Back in my day nobody had ‘mental problems’, we didn’t whine, we just toughed it out and endured life!” Hey remember that guy you used to work with, who seemed really friendly and normal, and then suddenly hanged himself ‘for no reason’?

“Back in my day we didn’t have any of this ‘gay’ or ‘transgender’ thing.” You did, but your family cut all ties with her before you were born.

You kinda start seeing it in everything they think, if you start looking for it.

“When we were kids nobody whined about car seats or bike helmets. We didn’t use them, and we all survived!”

Yeah, except for the ones who didn’t.

I love when other customers stick up for the cashier and put rude customer’s in their place! I wish it happened more often and that people didn’t remain bystanders.

ah yes i have seen [thing] and i loved it. i may barely remember the plot or any of the character's names but i watched it. i swear..

little mini lesbian rant about starting a family 🙃

So when my relationship with my girlfriend started getting serious (like day 2 lmao) we talked about if we’d ever want kids and what route we’d go through. She said she never wanted to experience being pregnant and was very adamant on adoption because of all the children out there who need a family. I said that being pregnant was something I might want to experience but also agreed with her about the adoption thing.

We’ve been together over 3.5 years so somewhere along the way after that conversation I brought it up again and said how cool it would be if we both had a biological child from the same sperm donor and maybe if it was possible (I had never done research but figured it was) I could carry her child like surrogates do. She was more open to this but thought it was a little weird the whole process of taking her egg and putting into my body… We want a big family so we would probably still adopt as well.

Fast forward to last night when I was on Tik Tok and I stumbled across this lesbian couple. They have two daughters and they used the same sperm donor and they did what I mentioned to my girlfriend about me carrying her child!!! Obviously I could have easily googled this but we’re not even married yet lmao so I didn’t want to get carried away but now I know the term, “Reciprocal IVF” and I know it’s possible and I’m so excited! This is years down the road but to know it’s possible and to see this beautiful family on Tik Tok is such an inspiring thing. It makes me even more determined to get my life on track and think about how amazing my future can be!

No. YOU DON’T GET TO DO THIS AND SLIP UNDER THE RADAR. Anyone who’s seeing this, I beg you to reblog. I want as many people to see this shit as possible.

this is really true tho!!! my uncle was a cop in NY & FL and they taught him to shoot first if he had to. anytime a cop feels threatened (and they basically teach cops they’re always threatened) they can shoot. its rlly sick psychological torture shit to help create a police state tbh

A lot of people in the replies to this seemingly have no idea what “class” is.

It’s not a set of values or something you automatically earn after college or like some mysterious inherent quality your parents pass down to you.

(Like, maybe your parents have enough money/assets where they can sustain you through economic insecurity, but let’s be honest…that’s not most people’s situation.)

If you are struggling with bills, if you don’t have savings, if you constantly question even small purchases, if spending a few thousand dollars on a vacation seems like a distant dream…you are not middle class.

And most importantly, saying you are not middle class is not an attack on your character.

Instead it’s a reminder to fight for your own economic interests, and not to let companies, your boss, or politicians trick you into working against yourself by believing you’re part of the “mythical middle.”

Damn

What’s more, if your first response to “you’re not middle class!” is to treat it like an attack on your character? Then you really need to stop and examine what you think about lower-class people.

Americans like to quote Kurt Vonnegut, that ‘socialism never took root in America because Americans see themselves as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.’

What that politely obscures is why Americans see themselves as future rich people: they despise the poor, even if they themselves are poor, and so would rather see themselves as “middle class” rather than ever see themselves as “poor.”

I would also like to add on this that if you are paying a mortgage on a home, but it’s a 30 year mortgage…you’re NOT middle class. Sorry!

“But by these definitions, almost NOBODY I know in the USA qualifies as middle class?!?!” Yep. Correct. Turns out the result of several decades of a “disappearing middle class” is almost everybody is poor.
