when a crime is committed, it is not the victim’s fault

That Midwest feel: When the tornado sirens go off and you panic for a second before remembering “Oh, it’s Wednesday”
what does this mean
It means it’s Wednesday, bro. If a tornado hits on a Wednesday it can’t hurt you. Those are the rules.
not to get up on my soap box here again but it’s really shocking to me how seemingly revolutionary the idea of “do what you’re comfortable with” is for women. like ive gotten so many anons asking me questions about what they should do in terms of relationships, how they identify wrt sexual orientation, dating apps, etc. where the answer seems so simple but the person asking cannot figure out a solution, and that’s because the answer is always “do what you’re comfortable with” which im beginning to realize is such a foreign concept for basically all women. there’s articles on this that probably say it better but just this idea of ignoring our own discomfort becoming so second nature to us that we literally can’t recognize when it’s okay to do what’s right for us is so prevalent for every woman i know. like i know it’s hard when society is pressuring women but i wish we were able to keep it in mind that we should never be forced into doing things we’re uncomfortable with, and in order to avoid these situations we need to become more familiar with the idea of doing what is comfortable and right for us no matter what the situation.

In light of recent events, I’d like to invite dc fans to our pity party
Okay, I wanna shout out to all the queer folks who have changed their labels multiple times. It’s totally fine, figuring this shit out is hard. If you think a term fits you, go ahead and use it, even if you figure out later on it wasn’t quite right.
Shout out to people who didn’t go to any pride celebrations this month for any reason:
-No proper transportation/ it was too far away
-Work or social responsibilities prevented you
-You’re not out for any number of reasons
-It was discouraged by family
-A chronic illness or disability prevented you
-Generally inaccessibility of celebrations
-You wouldn’t feel comfortable due to part of your identity (could be race or where you fit into the LGBTQ umbrella or other)
-You wouldn’t feel safe for the above reasons or any other
-You didn’t want to/couldn’t for any other reason
-Hell, you were just too lazy
You’re no less valid! Going to a pride celebration is not a requirement of being LGBTQ. Let’s continue spreading the love and acceptance I keep seeing on Tumblr no matter the month!
Happy Pride Month Eleanor Roosevelt was queer, the Little Mermaid is a gay love story, James Dean liked men, Emily Dickinson was a lesbian, Nikola Tesla was asexual, Freddie Mercury was bisexual & British Indian, and black trans women pioneered the gay rights movement.
Florence Nightingale was a lesbian, Leonardo da Vinci was gay, Michelangelo too, Jane Austen liked women, Hatshepsut was not cisgender, and Alexander the Great was a power bottom
Honestly just reblogging for that last one
Probably not historically backed but fuck yes
Freddie Mercury is well known for his attraction to men but was also linked to several women, including Barbara Valentin whom he lived with shortly before he died. Friends have talked about being invited into their bed and walking in on them having sex (documentary Freddie Mercury: The Great Pretender)
Leonardo da Vinci never married or fathered children, was once brought up on sodomy charges, and a sketch in one of his notebooks is 2 penises walking toward a hole labeled with the nickname of his apprentice
Jane Austin never married and wrote about sharing a bed with women (Jane Austen At Home: A Biography by Lucy Worsley)
I want to hire you to follow me around and defend my honor with meticulous research
