Adora stopped for a second, turning her head she stared down at the younger girl. She narrowed her eyes and tilted her head to the side. “Do you want this dress done right or do you want to look like a Star Dipper?” She asked remembering the name the younger starling Vivica would call her and her fellow Star Darlings. Though such names would never bug her, she was above that, and besides such a poor insult would never follow her into her fashion career.

Adora awaited for Cassie’s answer as she continued to star at her, and when the girl motioned her head to continue she sighed and moved back to her previous position.

“That’s what I thought.” She stated, she didn’t mean for it too come off so blunt, yet that was always how she answered things. And now that she was in her designer mode she wasn’t going to catch her cold remarks, she was far too busy trying to get Cassie’s dress right.

She was actually quiet thrilled when Cassie came up to her and asked if she could create a dress for her for the upcoming Starling Dance. Though it took her a while to say anything properly. But, nevertheless, once she realized what the young girl was asking for she beamed that rare shine she got when she was happy; though she didn’t show it until she got to her dorm, and when she did it was close to a explosion of light.

She was so thrilled in fact, that she wanted to make Cassie’s dress absolutely perfect and one hundred percent perfect. So, when she was finally done she stepped back and looked over to Cassie.

“There, doesn’t it shine out you?”

Do you want this dress done right or do you want to look like a Star Dipper?

Cassie flinched some at Adora’s remark, but she knew that deep down Adora was right. If the girl didn’t take her time her dress wouldn’t reflect her friend’s full potential. “Sorry.” she mumbled after nodding her head. “I just…I don’t know I guess I’m starting to second guess myself about going to this whole Star Shining dance or whatever it’s called.” she said with a small sad sigh.

However, when Adora was done Cassie was left speechless…

The young starling glanced down in awe at her dress after Adora was finally finished putting together the last touches. The dress was simply brilliant forget super shining because that simply didn’t do it any justice. She hopped down from the pedestal that she’d been standing on and went to admire the dress in the mirror. “Wow.” she said in a breathless whisper. Not only did the dress fit her just right, but Adora had designed quite the masterpiece. It was in her favorite color, white, of course with touches of soft peach colored accents and it sparkled rather divinely.

“Adora you’re so talented.” Cassie said happily as she gave the dress a twirl and examined it as she turned. “This dress doesn’t shine me out…it makes me feel like a completely different starling…and I mean that in a good way.” she said with a nod of her head before returning her attention to the gown. Even though she had watched Adora the entire time the final result was remarkable.

“Honestly you should consider starting your own fashion line now.” she said with a giggle as she looked up at the blue haired starling.

Adora’s eyes popped up for a second, and she could feel her face brighten up with her blue shine. She was a humble starling, she never tried to brag and say she was better than others; but she couldn’t help but be flushed with a mixture of happiness and embarrassment whenever she was complimented; especially when it was on her fashion.

Her mouth curled into a sweet smile, but she quickly caught herself and turn away. “Thank you for the compliments Cassie; however, I do not need to be told something I already know.” She stated bluntly as she walked over to the end of the room as if to usher Cassie out. But, for once she caught her words and stopped herself from throwing out the younger starling.

She gave out a sigh realizing when she saw Cassie, how beautiful and innocent she looked, and how she was happy to make such a divine garment for her.

“Starpologies...” She let out and instead of ushering the starling out her door she led her to the mirror and bent down next to her looking into the reflection. “There, now you can really see how wonderful that dress looks on you. It’s cute and frilly just like you!” she enthusiastically said, for when she got to see the designs she made for others, and how happy it made them, she couldn’t be more thrilled.

“I still can’t believe you asked me to make you a dress, and now I’m more than pleased you did; the other Star Darlings were foolish to not ask me the same.” She proudly proclaimed but then she bit her tongue a little ashamed that she let her mouth run, and she blushed a bright blue.

Adora what's your favorite earth designer?

Oh, well I know this star on Wishworld is not longer light, but I have always been fascinated in the wishling Coco Chanel. Her designs where startastic, and she found new ways to emit her fashion’s glow onto the world. She truly is what I strive to become here on Starland!

It felt as though Cassie had been standing in Adora’s room for hours. Probably not, but she felt antsy, she wasn’t sure why. Perhaps it was because she’d been regretting all of this since the moment it began…

Somehow, Sage and Libby had talked Cassie into wanting to go to the first Starling Dance of the year at the school, and at first Cassie wasn’t too thrilled. It seemed silly to her, but because her roommate and fellow first year student made such a big deal out of it Cassie couldn’t help but feel obligated to go along, and that was how she ended up in Adora’s room.

All the Star Darlings, Scarlet included, were planning on going to the event, and the event called for fashion that was a little more fancy than the norm, and since she had nothing of the sort in her closet she figured she could ask Adora to design a dress for her…and now she was starting to second guess things…

She didn’t doubt Adora’s talent at all, for the starling was rather gifted when it came to making clothes, but again Cassie began to wonder just what was the point in getting all dolled up? Just because the Starling boys from the school across from them were attending as well? It just seemed so silly and the more Cassie thought of it, the less she wanted to go through the trouble and stay behind in her dorm room with Bitty and a good holobook. “Hey um Adora?… A-are you almost done?” she asked as she looked down at the fabric that was pinned everywhere as Adora made adjustments to the dress.
