i actually experienced this last summer.

my mom is friends with this trans woman, who was really sweet and she was super cool, but then i tried to come out after my mom expressed how much she liked her trans friend and how amazing she is. i told my mom about my crippling chest dysphoria and how much i’d love to be called by he/him pronouns and my preferred name. i told her about how i’ve always felt this way and i’ve known since eighth grade.

well the thing is, her friend is a transmed.

my mom is an uninformed person on trans issues, because she didn’t really care about them until recently. she took resources from her transmed friend and it ruined my life. she went off about how i’m not really trans because i didn’t come out sooner, i have piercings, my hair is always a crazy color, i still like girly things, and my glasses are weird. she kept yelling about how i didn’t have dysphoria before, so i obviously have the wrong definition. she told me if i was trans it would’ve been diagnosed by my therapist already, and it was just a cult bandwagon phase. i was locked away from the outside world for a month.

when my next year of high school rolled around, i was out as trans. my partner provided me with a binder and all was well. i came out to all my peers at the beginning and about halfway through the school year to my teachers. it was quiet, under the table. i told them my mom didn’t know and under our school guidelines, they were not allowed to tell my mom that sort of thing. well, one of my teachers ended up being lgbtphobic and i didn’t know, and announced to the class that she didn’t “agree with the lifestyle” and that “gay marriage isn’t what god wanted.” my mom got an email that day about me being out as trans at school. i wonder who could’ve sent it?

my mom blew up. she was sending me treat after threat because i was a trender, all i did was lie for attention, that i chose to be trans because it was trendy and that real trans people wouldn’t flaunt their transness. of course, she got these resources from her transmed friend. she pulled me out of public school and cut my contact with the outside world for three whole months. i didn’t get back into school until february.

DO NOT TELL ME THAT PEOPLE WITH DIFFERING OPINIONS ISNT TRANSPHOBIC AND HARMFUL BECAUSE EVEN AS A DYSPHORIC TRANS PERSON, TRANSMEDICALISM HAS RUINED MY HOME, MY FAMILY, AND MY LIFE. I WILL NOT STAND FOR TRANSMEDS OR PEOPLE WHO ALLOW THEIR INTERACTION. THEY ARE EXTREMELY HARMFUL AND NEED TO BE STOPPED BEFORE MORE LIVES ARE RUINED.

I mean: we did this with bi kids and particularly bi girls, right. With people my age.

We got super gatekeepy and “you must be THIS GAY to ride this identity” and we complained at length about it being “trendy” and how girls only did it to be “cool” and to get attention.

And so among other things I know one person I love is, for example, only JUST getting to have her FIRST relationship ever with a woman at slightly older than me because this shit got into her head and she didn’t think she was “allowed”.

So watching people turn the same bullshit on even more vulnerable kids?

This is a problem. This is lateral violence. And it needs to fucking stop.

Let me be clear, even if Transtrending was a thing (I do not think that it is), I would still much rather hear a 15 year old tell me that they thought they were trans and then realized they weren’t after a few months of playing with the idea, than hear about a 30 year old who finally transitioned after having a mental breakdown because they spent their life thinking they weren’t trans enough and therefore weren’t allowed to transition.

Fighting the Transtrender Boogeyman isn’t protecting the integrity of trans rights, it just makes the struggle of atypical trans people harder.

THIS SHIT NEEDS TO STOP

The only 2 places in the entire game that mention Bonnie and Monty together in any capacity are Missing and Understudy. Missing is Bonnie's timestamps, and Understudy is where the fact that Monty replaces Bonnie comes up.

In Missing, it lists Monty Golf as Bonnie's "last known location." While this is interesting, it's important to understand that "last known" does not equal "last ever." As you'll see later, it's highly probable he had been other places, but they weren't tracked due to some sort of error.

Here's the interesting thing, though. In Understudy it says, verbatim: "With Bonnie out of commission, we're making Monty the new bass player. Parts and Service has already done the proper adjustments. This could be a good thing. Monty could be even more popular than Bonnie."

This message confirms that Bonnie was simply "out of commission" and not dead/destroyed. It also indirectly states, through Monty needing to have 'adjustments' made, that he wasn't in full working order.

Certainly even Fazbear Entertainment (I'm just gonna call them FE whenever they come up because I'm too lazy to type the whole name) wouldn't let a half-working animatronic freely roam the Pizzaplex or interact with the other animatronics, and surely Monty wouldn't have enough power to destroy another animatronic in his current state.

Also, if Bonnie was destroyed, how would parts of him be used for Monty?

⚠️ Spoilers for one of the endings ahead! ⚠️

(Some of this part will be a little vague, as to avoid as many spoilers as possible.)

Early in the game, when Freddy is taking the player to the First-Aid area, Vanessa says that if she catches Freddy helping Gregory, she'll have him replaced. Later, in one of the endings, it is shown that Freddy is replaced by Mr. Hippo.

This is interesting, as it shows that when animatronics malfunction in the Pizzaplex, they don't get repaired, they just get replaced. Basically, FE are cheap and lazy, so they have backups lying around for if something happens. This checks out when you consider all the other animatronics.

Firstly, given the.. plethora of things wrong with most of the Foxy models, it makes sense that FE would want to replace him with a new and shiny, child-friendly wolf character!

Secondly, when Freddy is caught helping Gregory (believe it or not this is considered an error), there's no hesitation in replacing him with Mr. Hippo, despite the fact that Freddy is the most loved and recognizable part of the entire franchise.

We don't know what happened to any of the older Chica models, and she hasn't done anything wrong (that I know of), so it's safe to assume that FE just wanted to give her a fresh coat of paint. (However, who's to say that after the events of the game, they DIDN'T scrap Chica, too?)

Given this, it's very safe to assume that Bonnie simply had some unknown malfunction, and FE was all too eager to scrap him entirely.

So why would FE be so eager to replace their old animatronics, the originals, the ones who've been through it all? Well, what has the entire series been about up until this point?

Child abduction and murder.

That's right, the entire series started because some guy stuffed some dead kids into Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. And those same mascots have been used this entire time.

It only makes sense that FE would try to replace them, but they never had anyone to replace them with. Until now: bring in Roxanne, Montgomery, and the Mediocre Melodies.

Montgomery and Mr. Hippo are even more interesting cases. Think about who they replace: Bonnie and Freddy. The direct successors to Spring Bonnie and Fredbear.

Fredbear bit a kids' head off, and Spring Bonnie was the suit used to lure kids into the back rooms. No matter how much FE tried to distance Freddy and Bonnie from their source, be it changing their color or their shape, those memories will always be attached to those characters.

This idea is added to by the fact that the Pizzaplex is literally built directly on top of an old Freddy Fazbear's restaurant. Yet again, another instance of FE trying to erase their history.

Fazbear Entertainment is looking for any excuse to scrap and replace these old characters, so it makes sense that, at any sign of malfunction, they're at risk of being taken off stage.

TL;DR, MONTY DID NOT MURDER BONNIE, FAZBEAR ENTERTAINMENT DID.

“we need to stop the stigma towards drug users and addicts” and “we need to challenge the idea that being sober makes you boring” and “we need to stop acting like binge drinking to the extent you’re doing medical damage is fun and normal for young people” are all ideas that can and should coexist.

just so we’re clear, the threshold for “binge drinking to the extent you’re doing medical damage” is waaaay lower than you think.

I work in an obstetrician and gynaecologist’s office. we have to tell patients on a regular basis that they are binge drinking weekly when they think they are simply consuming a normal amount of alcohol on the weekends.

having more than 3 drinks in a single sitting if you have an estrogen based endocrine system is a binge that is medically significant.

having more than 5 in a sitting is a medically significant binge for someone with a testosterone based endocrine system.

every time you do this, it significantly impacts your risk of getting breast cancer, and damages your liver. it takes time to recover from that liver damage. if you’re having a 3-5 or more drink binge on a weekly basis, you are an alcoholic, medically speaking, and your liver is not recovering.

again: the bar for what binge drinking is, medically, is so much lower than what you think it is.

alcohol is a really toxic substance and not something you should fuck around with.

again: if you have an estrogenized hormone system (common for most women), then 3 drinks is a binge. if you have a testosteronized hormone system (common for most men), then 5 drinks is a binge.

anything above that number, consumed as frequently as weekly or more, and you’re medically a binge drinking alcoholic.

also, if you’re drinking any quantity of alcohol 6 days a week or more, that’s another threshold at which, medically speaking, you meet the definition of alcoholism. your liver needs more days without alcohol in your system than just one a week to recover and be healthy.

I don’t say any of this to shame anyone—to me, alcoholism or substance use disorders aren’t a sign of weakness or moral failing. and most of us genuinely don’t know this stuff.

rather—I point this out because it’s important to reduce harm, and find ways to live healthier, happier lives. there is a life outside of constant binge drinking. it’s not always easy to find it. but it’s out there. you deserve a life where your emotional needs are met by something other than alcohol, and a life in which your liver is healthy, and the ways you cope and celebrate and find joy don’t put you at increased risk of cancer.

also–even if alcohol is the only way you can self-medicate, or if you choose to go on with your alcohol usage anyway regardless of other options–you still deserve to know what it’s doing to your body.

information is key. you don’t have to stop drinking, but the utter lack of education on alcohol + the normalization of binge drinking in current society leads to many people drinking without any idea of what it’s doing to their bodies.

addicts deserve accurate medical information regardless of what they decide to do with it. for some people, losing liver function is worth the benefits they get from binge drinking, but they can’t make that choice if they don’t know what the consequences are to begin with.

I’m so tired of every show that takes place in the past (wild west, medieval, pirates etc) ALWAYS having so much sexual violence towards women like writers can cry “oh it’s realism” all you want but it’s very transparent how realism only applies when you want to hurt women on screen. This pisses me off so much. A lot of the time if you mention realism would also involve women having unshaved legs or pits, or bushy eyebrows, or syphilis, the answer is often “well that’s gross, no one wants to read about/see that” and like…. If you think that women being ugly is grotesque, but brutal depictions of rape aren’t, then I don’t really know what to say to you other than stay the fuck away from me.
