I sometimes forget how Dedede isn't a villain and him and Kirby are more rivals than anything. He often gets grouped with Bowser and other Nintendo villains and the anime set an incorrect non-canon image for him but do I love how him and Kirby aren't true enemies. Even in the Smash Bros.
