Though, I am also existing, so, I'm takin' both sentiments.
Me, weeks before my mom's birthday: *initiates planning something for her with my sister* Me, weeks before my sister's birthday: *checks with her if she has any plans, makes sure something is happening and the family gets together* Me, weeks before my dad's birthday: *coordinates schedules to make sure we take him out for dinner* Me, weeks before either of my nieces birthdays: *confirms with my sister if there's only family plans or family and kid parties I need to schedule for* Me, the day before my own birthday: *family hasn't contacted me at all. Finally get a text from my mom telling me she and my dad are busy all week this week but maybe we can meet up so they can give me my card sometime next week* *sigh*
I've never been fond of May because it's my birthday month. My parents were never really good with birthdays, they didn't really see why they might be important to kids, so it was a lot of expectation and nothingness. For a period of my life, I had someone who cared greatly about my birthday. Who did stuff and made me feel like someone actually cared. Even if it was something small, there was always something done to celebrate that day. But now I'm alone. Completely alone. And this May teased me with a couple of decent days at the beginning. But now the crappiness is settling in and I'm just counting down the days until my birthday has passed.

Please don't buy this pen. This was a Kickstarter campaign which ended two years ago. It had 8,030 backers, 7,853 of which were at a level to get a pen.
It would have been 7,854 if I hadn't dropped my pledge down to just the support level for a couple bucks. I stayed a backer only to be able to keep getting campaign updates.
I did that because it had been discovered they didn't even have a working prototype. The videos were are fabricated.
Two years later, they have delivered 1,460 pens, a large number of which are either so glitchy they can't be used or they stopped working entirely.
The original 3Doodler is your best bet if you want a functional 3D pen. Even though it's fat and looks like a toy, it works. Because even the second 3Doodler has a number of issues. Mine has lived in its box since about a week after I got it due to never getting it to run continuously without clogging through even a single piece of filament. At least that one delivered on time.

Does this scare anyone else? I feel like I need to save them and immediately wake them up. It still makes me wonder what they dream about or if this is a medical concern. Or possessed.
Don't worry, he's healthy and happy. :) He's about to turn 13 (I just call him my kitty even though he's a senior citizen) and has always been a deep sleeper/dreamer. Especially when he's sleeping on me, like in this video. I've actually learned its best *not* to wake him when he's this sleeping this hard, as he startles quite a bit compared to when he's asleep otherwise.
I've had cats all my life (36 years), and have seen one having a full seizure before, and while in small parts, it can very mildly similar, a true seizure is way worse and quite a bit scarier for all involved.
I do sincerely appreciate the concern though, it is important to pay close attention to our fur babies and also look out for all fur babies everywhere. :)
And I definitely always wonder what he's dreaming about!

Had a conversation with my parents tonight after dinner about having food/supplies on hand. My mom talked about getting some of buckets which contain a few weeks worth of ready to eat dehydrated meals and how she could buy me one at the same time for me to keep at my place. Then she mentioned how she and my dad could come get me & my cat to bring me to their house if my garage gate was locked closed in case of a power outage. I said I'd probably be safer on the second floor of my building (which is really the third with the garage at ground level) since it's a locked/gated building. She was confused about that assessment. Turns out she was talking about earthquake preparedness and I was thinking along the lines of a zombie apocalypse kind of situation.
