i've been extra skeptical of people attacking the ace flag or """mogai flags""" ever since i learned that the Bear flag predates the bi flag lmao. esoteric flags have been a thing in the community since literally the 90's, and have been a rallying point for smaller LGBT+ groups since the beginning - the backlash against more modern ones like the ace/aro/demi/etc flags is especially weird in light of that

Also like, the attacks I’ve heard on the flag are literally “Why do you need one” (which could be asked about ALL the flags the community has including the rainbow) and “You stole purple” which was ???
This also does not include all variations of (some of) these flags because that would take all night to list.
There is of course WAY MORE than this! But I thought people ought to know just how old or how new some flags are.
