There's a tornado where I live along with lightning (which already caused a fire nearby) and rain, and my weather app says it's "partly cloudy". How cute!
For everyone panicking, it has NOT become a law. It has passed its first round and has been put into a markup stage
For more information on who to contact and what exactly the process is for something to pass into law, go HERE^
I love going outside and hearing the alphabet sing to me. "Tweet tweet," says the letter X. Truly poetic
So I think the best strat here is for the users who did get the new layout to just stop using the desktop version of the site for a while, like a week or a month or however long their 'experiment' is supposed to last, while the users who didn't get the new layout should keep using the desktop version like normal or, perhaps, use it even more than usual.
My guess is that they're doing basic A/B testing on the new layout to see if it would boost engagement: the userbase is split roughly 50/50 between the 2 versions and they are going to be comparing the engagement data between the 2 groups of users to see if it's worth it switching everyone to the new layout or not.
Basically, if you got the new layout and don't like it - don't use it. If engagement metrics of group B (new layout) are lower than those of group A (no change), the experiment will be considered a failure and they will have to reverse the change.
If your tumblr suddenly looks like twitter - it's a sign to log off and go touch some grass! (or just use the mobile app since that engagement data isn't relevant to this particular experiment)
Don't just not use it, send feedback too!
There's a "contact us" option to send feedback about features being launched. GIVE FEEDBACK IN THE APPROPRIATE SPACE!
Not to "As a professional UX researcher" on this thread, but yeah, as a professional UX researcher, now is the exact time to provide clear (but kind!! the poor UX team is usually not responsible for these decisions) feedback on what your thoughts are in regards to this change.
In my job, if I were doing an AB test on a site layout and every person I interviewed said "I hate it, it looks like knockoff twitter, please put the old one back" then I would be very excited to include a nice little bullet point in my report that says "[x] number of participants disliked the new layout :)"
They want feedback? Give it to them.
Don’t be cruel. But tell the truth.
My take (for those who care): Make this particular change optional. New users can adopt it if they like. Me? I seriously dislike the way it’s abusing the screen real estate I prefer after years of use.
Making the new dash arrangement mandatory (if I’m any indication) is going to seriously annoy many longtime users.
wtf is this junkrat shit
they hit him with the doohickey. the gizmo. the contraption. the thingamabob
What in the fuck
Port Mafia Soukoku but Dazai’s heart hiccups and short-circuits the moment he sees Chuuya doing a full split while working on his laptop (“Why are you looking at me like a mackerel, ha?! I’m exercising and working. It’s called multitasking!”) and realizing that—
Oh.
Chuuya’s kind of hot. And he is gay panicking.
Dazai: You are… flexible.
Chuuya, thinking he’s misheard: Well, yeah? I’m behind with the paperwork and I should be at the gym now.
Dazai: Oh.
Chuuya: Why? Ya have a problem?
Dazai: 🧍
Chuuya:
Dazai, Oh my god he’s really hot what do I do now: …Ew.
Chuuya: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY EW?!

I bet if anyone in the Flags got into a romantic relationship the second the others found out they would start accusing that person of cheating on them- Like they'd all get together on it, maybe even Iceman, whether they planned it first or not
Dazai and Chuuya would be that couple in highschool that isn't dating but everyone thinks they are- I bet if someone tried to hit on either of them the other would get in the way too
I'm absolutely losing my mind over how everyone is just screaming about how sskk this episode was despite sskk not having interacted at all. And still, they're right. It's about Atsushi praying someone comes to help him and his unconscious telling him there's only one person he could be with in that moment and it's Akutagawa always being in the area to make sure Atsushi is okay and it's their lives being so intrinsically and inseparably connected to the point one can't exist without the other, like they only make sense as part of a whole. What about you how are you doing
RIGHT that scene was delicious- They're soulmates I just
I huave an idea guys
LITERALLY HAD THIS HAPPEN WITH FYODOR AND SHIBUSAWA IN MY VICTORIAN FEM VAMPIRES AU
What the fuck is that
A secret
WRONG BLOG HOW DARE THERE BE NO WAY TO CHANGE THAT IN POST
Please spread Leona's story, and her evidence, as much as you can. She has a mountain of evidence proving Bethesda/Zenimax a hostile work environment for trans women, and she deserves to be heard and to receive justice for being forced out of her job.
so we all heard ranpo’s statement that was something like “it feels like the whole world excluding me is part of an inside joke” or something i don’t remember but that’s LITERALLY WHAT SOME PEOPLE WITH AUTISM HAVE SAID. like as a neurodivergent person (autism and adhd) i can just smell the autism on him.
EXACTLY- Like dude I felt that way for for YEARS before I finally realized I have ADHD and autism

Fukuzawa: Fire at will!
Dazai: *puts nametag on*
Dazai: *pulls out sharpie*
Actually we need more appreciation for the Atsushi and Kunikida dynamic because I feel like so much of it happens off-panel/offscreen
While Dazai was the one to bring Atsushi into the Agency and Fukuzawa the one to let him join, it was Kunikida who just started treating Atsushi like another employee - it was this that had Atsushi abruptly realizing he was actually wanted by the Agency and that they weren't just going to kick him out. Kunikida was the one who had Atsushi coming to that realization and tearing up over it (however unintentional it was on Kunikida's part hjghjbg).
But then there's little bits that show that Kunikida trains Atsushi in combat; he's blunt in his criticisms, but he's not cruel. What's more, Kunikida does not treat Atsushi like he is going to break, nor as someone to be afraid of. He is training him so he can contribute the same amount as any Agency member - which further affirms that Atsushi is wanted and needed with this group.
I bet it was also Kunikida who actually showed him how to do things around the office. Maybe Tanizaki did a bit too, but Kunikida is a more senior member and probably oversaw a lot of Atsushi's work at the beginning at least. Again, this is someone taking the time to teach Atsushi, something he never would've had before. And really, so long as Atsushi is putting in his full effort (which he would of course), Kunikida isn't the type to berate him for a mistake. Maybe he'd be a little irritated if it put him behind but like. Even that base mentorship has got to mean a lot to Atsushi.
It's just. There's got to be more to their dynamic we haven't seen because Atsushi was so so happy to see that the Agency members were safe, but he also explicitly felt relieved enough and comfortable enough to take a flying leap at Kunikida to tackle hug the man and that really says a lot to me.
The best part is that if Atsushi were to ever try to convey just how much Kunikida has done for him, Kunikida would probably be totally baffled and have no clue what he's even talking about because... Kunikida was literally just being himself. But being himself is what's really important to Atsushi, and to a lot of people in the Agency, I think.
