So it has been quite some time (around 3 years) since I last told you about who I am. (https://ace-qpr-positivity.tumblr.com/post/161292429992/personal-masterpost-2017-2) The person behind this blog. For the longest time I ran this blog as Mod Tonks, partially due to the wish to distance myself from everything JK Rowling, partially because I found a chosen name that feels right, I recently edited the blog-description.

Hello, my pseudonym for this blog is Miffy (Nijntje). My pronouns are en/em/ens, they/them, fae/faer and he/him.

Rapidly approaching the point of unfollowing people who clown on "Let men be masculine" posts, regardless of how close I am to them.

Like, you know trans men exist, right? You know there are men who have trauma regarding feminine clothing and make up? Men who get treated as "woman lite", who get portrayed as slim waifish twinks?

You know there are men who get told that testosterone is poison? Who are warned about mutilating their beautiful, pure, feminine breasts? Who are told they'll be ugly if they grow facial hair or go bald?

You know you follow one of those men???

What is alterous match making?

A place for people who are looking for dating/relationship that isn't strictly romantic or platonic. It's not inherently different than a qpr but I wanted to create a place for people who may not feel comfortable with that label.

Inspired by @qprmatchmaker

You can submit an about me or reach out to other people.

Any other important information or boundaries

We need to stop acting like “romantic attraction” and “sexual attraction” actually exist. I know they’re really popular fanfic tropes, and can even be good when well written, but this has gotten out of hand. Some people think it’s real. Didn’t we learn anything from Goncharov? Please start tagging your posts with unreality.

Original post is Unreality, below is Reality. So I was unaware of what the context of tagging things with unreality meant. I am deleting the original post, but I am using this reblog to give anyone context about what I’m talking about. I am incredibly sorry for posting something that in any way could be construed as mocking anyone who needs clear delineation between what is and isn’t real. This came from a place of ignorance not from a place of malice, now that I know more I will not post anything that I believe could be seen as punching down at anyone who needs that kind of support.

Which is why it’s important to not be mean.

Their cult teaches them that the world is full of scary monster people who hate them for being so good and loved by god. If you swear at them and call them names or get in their face you’re just doing the cults work for it.

I’m not saying you have to listen to their presentation or try to debate them (and really getting into a debate without thoroughly understanding what they’re being taught will just make things worse)… I am just saying to be polite and say no thank you like if they were trying to hand you a flyer for something you don’t care about.

It’s easier for them to see the world outside their bubble as less scary if they see everyday people just going about their business and being as nice to them as you are to everyone else. This goes doubly for anyone who happens to dress modestly, not swear, and not drink or smoke because whatever you believe, they’ll see you as a “good” person who happens to strangely have no interest in their “message”, and that might be enough to get some curious about the possibility of themselves living in the real world.

It’s sometimes hard to be nice to people who seem to represent something you dislike. Just remember these “elders” are sheltered young men, some of which are getting their first real contact with people of other/no faiths.

They are not your enemy. They are victims.

A person in a wheelchair waiting in front of elevator doors that read "Today is the day we take the stairs" in bold yellow and white letters. In the upper right-hand corner of the elevator doors are the hospital and medical symbols.

Ho boy let me tell you about the time an elevator on campus made my orthostatic-intolerant POTSie arse laugh. I was already wearing compression stockings and had just walked up two flights of stairs.

Photo of an elevator, the closed door has a pictogram and text on it. The Pictograms shows a person with short hair and a shoulder bag walking up stairs. The text is divided in two blocks. Next to the lower block is a pictogram of a stethoscope.

Text in English, Original German below: “If you decide on the elevator, you miss out on a chance… …to lower your blood pressure.”

German transcript: „Wenn du Dich für den Aufzug entscheidest, entgeht dir die Chance… …deinen Blutdruck zu senken.“

REGULAR REMINDER THAT IT IS COMMON COURTESY TO SEND AN ASK TO THE PERSON YOU REBLOGGED AN ASK GAME FROM !! THIS PART OF TUMBLR CULTURE HAS BEEN LOST OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS SO PLEASE KEEP ASKS GAMES ALIVE BY SENDING ASKS !!

Standard tumblr ettiquette used to be send an ask one up and one down the chain (i.e. who you reblogged it from and who reblogged it from you) because that ensured everyone who wanted asks got at least one :) and yes anon totally counts!!

Remember the point of ask games is less to talk about yourself (although yeah of course that's fun!) and more to provide opportunities to get to know others with some icebreakers 💕 if you want to get to know people (mutuals or otherwise!!) sending asks to others in an ask game is a key way to build rapport :) you can learn about their likes and dislikes, share headcanons, check in on life, and most importantly you can chat about their/your answer in the replies of the post - it's a time honoured tradition on tumblr as one of the key ways to make friends 😁

What I mean when I say I like a character as an aroace person

  • They look pretty
  • I want to analyze their brain
  • They look like they would give good hugs
  • I wanna carry them around in a bag like one of those little dogs
  • They make certain traumatized part of me feel safe

people often say “there’s more than one kind of love” (which can sometimes be problematic, but that’s not the point of this post), but fellow alloaros, do you feel you experience sexual “love” ? because, uh, I don’t. I experience sexual attraction. but love is not a word I would use to describe my experiences.

**please do not participate in this poll unless you are a non-ace aro! if you are curious about the outcome of this poll, I will reblog the final responses once the poll has ended. thank you! **

Thank you all for running another excellent AAW!

Also, not sure if you have already been made aware but I just reading the new Ace and Aro Advocacy Project book "Ace and Aro Journeys" and they gave AAW a shout-out!
