It does not do to dwell on fanfictions and forget canon. Giulia, Italy. Twitter: @peachylouivs Instagram: @giuls.lwt

The Precious Stones trilogy is one of the best things I've ever come across, but the actors that play Gwendolyn and (my bae) Gideon in the films are an epic fail.

I absolutely love ships where one character is usually serious and distant, but when they talk to that one person, their voice turns soft and gentle and is suddenly filled with fondness that they don’t show to anyone else.

Book Review

Josephine Angelini’s in 2011 published Starcrossed follows the story of Helen Hamilton, a teenager from Nantucket, Massachusetts, who discovers in a long series of events that she is, in fact, a modern-day Helen of Troy.

The author describes with a youthful tone Helen’s life which turns upside down the moment the Delos’ move to that little island in the American state of Massachusetts and reveal to her that she is a descendant of a Greek god, a Scion.     “Who are they and why is everyone so fascinated by them?” Seems to be a constant question asked by the main protagonist until she bumps into Lucas Delos and, in a wild rage, tries to kill him.    A long family feud had woken their thirst for revenge that only ended when they saved each ohers’ lives, resulting in them falling endlessly in a forbidden love - a union that could trigger a new Trojan War, since both she and Lucas are basically copies of Helen and Paris of Troy.    The trouble starts the moment it is revealed to her that a group of Scions called the “100 Cousins” are pursuing their wish to rise Atlantis from the bottom of the sea by uniting their house and killing every other Scion, that including Helen.

Between all the action and romance, the reader can find little glimpses of humour, my favourite being Hector’s comment about Helen’s fighting skills. “You’ve got the killer instincts of a houseplant”, had me in tears and continues to be my favourite quote from the book.

I've just heard about Amber Heard and Johnny Depp and I feel so upset. I was a fan of Johnny as an actor but now I can't have any respect for him. I feel disgusted that some people are calling Amber a "gold digger", saying that she is doing it for fame or wondering if she's saying the truth because violence doesn't start from nothing. This is exactly why women are afraid of speaking up. She probably has reached the limit and she didn't speak up earlier because she knew that she would have been shamed and insulted. We don't know how long and how she had been abused before she spoke up. Moreover, abuse doesn't always leave bruises and she probably wasn't able to tell it on when she had no objective evidences because she knew that, considering who her husband is, nobody would have believed her. No matter how much they "made our childhood", celebrities are normal people and Amber Heard should be listened, comforted and believed like any other abuse victim. But yet again, this is not the first time the victim is blamed. There is always an excuse for violence. One time she was asking for it, the other she just made up the whole thing to get money.

After not being able to find any book that really could catch me for a long time, I've been reading a lot recently and this is making me so happy. I had missed that feeling of getting lost in words, of thinking about a certain story and all its twists and cliffhangers, of falling in love with characters, of imagining their voices, their good parts and their flaws.

Not reading spoilers is hard, but not giving spoilers is worse

Person A taking Person B’s hand to lead them somewhere. At one point or another, A finally notices that they haven’t let go of B’s hand. As Person A attempts to subtly pull their hand away to spare themselves from mortification, Person B resolutely tightens their grip.

In Starcrossed this is canon
