Check out the Pokemon Plushies on my Ebay Store

Hey, my project this summer is selling my old collectibles, and that includes most of my Pokemon plushies. They’re mostly from 2010-2014. I don’t need money, this is just so I can buy fun things, so the only thing you’d be supporting are the general virtues of buying things second hand as opposed to new and the reduction of single use plastic, since I’m just tossing these guys into carboard boxes.

There aren’t any auctions, but I do have it enabled that you can negotiate with me. Under “Add to cart” there’s “make offer” where you can suggest your own price, and I’ll consider it.

For shipping, I’m using USPS flat rates because they’ll send you the boxes for free. That means that no mater where you live in the US, it will cost $9.45 or $16.10 for expedited shipping. That includes places like Hawaii, Alaska, rural areas, and all territories/possessions- even if you normally have to pay a premium for shipping. Also the size increase between small boxes and medium boxes is a lot. If you order multiple plushies, you’ll just be paying $16. I do have international purchases turned off, and that’s because flat rate international shipping is some kind of average for the cost of shipping to somewhere like Canada as well as somewhere like Poland. They’re $30 and $50. No one is going to pay that.

Please just check it out, perhaps reblog this post. Maybe I have a plush of a Pokemon you really like. I’ll also be adding Magic the Gathering and Pokemon Trading Card Game cards soon.

Update on my store: I’ve changed to free shipping. Still only US shipping. The list prices of the plushes have been increased, but the amount a buyer would pay has decreased for all items (but remember, you can use the offer feature). As for cards, I’ve had more luck selling them directly to buylists of stores, so that’s what I’ll be using instead.

it's oddly fitting that the activity perhaps most associated with america's independence day:

  • is widely known to scare animals and some people
  • creates debris and a significant risk of fire and injury
  • makes a sound that can be confused with gunshots
  • is meant to create a brief light show often visible only to those very close by, while the noise and debris can travel much further
  • and yet attempts to discourage it (even in places where it's already illegal) lead to those speaking up being called "snitches" or "party poopers" because 'murica

It doesn't just sound like gunshots, it's an alternate development of gunpowder technology. Fireworks and guns are basically siblings.

PSA: The Torah is NOT the equivalent of the Old Testament. That is the Tanakh. The Torah only covers the first five books (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy).

I've seen too many people be highly confident in this idea and it's driving me a bit mad. Oh and also the Jewish understanding of these texts is worlds away from the Christian understanding, so just keep that in mind. Anyway, that's all.

Ignore the tags, B"H.

Also the Gemara, Mishna, Rashi, Rambam, Midrash, any other commentaries are also not the Torah (although when Jews say "learning Torah" we generally mean learning anything related to Jewish law and theology, if it's confusing, whatever. Language is funny. What you need to know is that in an academic sense, and especially if you're a gentile, Torah is just the five books of Moses).

Stop quoting other sources and saying "this is in the Torah". It's not. The six sexes are not in the Torah. The Chanukah story is not in the Torah. David and Jonathan are not in the Torah. Ezekielian angels are not in the Torah. Etc etc etc.

Of course, this doesn't mean that non-Torah texts aren't important. Judaism and Jewish theology is constantly expansive- we don't start and end with the "raw" text of the Torah, or even the Tanakh. You'd be hard pressed to find any printed copy of the Torah without any commentaries and translations like Onkelos (Roman era commentator and translator) and Rashi (Medieval era commentator and translator) for this reason.

But it's simply misinformation to claim "the Torah says [insert whatever's trending at the moment]" when it simply doesn't.

Hey I'm Jewish and this post taught me something else. I thought that the Old Testament was the Torah in the opposite direction, that it only referred to the Pentateuch and I often found myself at a loss for how to refer to the nevi'im and the ketuvim in the context them also being scripture for Christians and Muslims (mostly Christian. My interest in history and what history is written about in English means I know quite a bit about the history of Christianity, which makes blind spots like these even funnier).

Hey, catholicism question, might be dumb but I was raised agnostic so I don't know much. If Saint Peter was a real dude who got the title of Saint posthumously, and he's the guy who lets people into heaven, who did that job before he was around?

So the harrowing of hell is an event which is commemorated during three days in Holy Week, where Jesus during his death goes Doomguy on Hell to rescue the "children and virtuous pagans"--ie people who deserve to belong in Heaven, but were tormented in Hell because they were born too early to see Christ happen. Peter was the first Pope as-it-were directly following Christ.

That said--we don't know! It's never stated. My personal assumption would be that the gates of Heaven were guarded by angels. Probably Powers? But that's just my headcanon.

Did anyone even get into heaven before Jesus was around? Cause wasn't that what the harrowing was for?

Correct! The asker is wondering who guarded the pearly gates before Peter died but after Jesus had died+resurrected+died again. That means there was a period where people were entering Heaven retroactively because of the harrowing, but Peter wasn't able to gatekeep gaslight golgotha. I told them there was no real evidence, but my personal opinion would be that it was guarded by angels.

Oh yeah I forgot not every apostle spontaneously combusted after Jesus went to heaven. Duh.

Things I wish women were learning from true crime podcasts: how to spot early warning signs of abusive relationships, how to escape abusive relationships, how easily domestic violence can escalate to murder, how incredibly unlikely it is to be the victim of a crime done by a complete random stranger as opposed to friends and family

What women are learning from true crime podcasts: I am in CONSTANT danger and every day I survive without being murdered by a serial killer is a miracle. I should react to everyone I meet with distrust and paranoia and live my life as if I am in mortal peril and if anyone suggests that might not be healthy then they just don't understand what it is to Be A Woman In Today's Society

You should also be learning that cops are both bad at their jobs and not trustworthy.

A friend of mine bought a house that hasn't been updated all that much since it was built in the 1950s, and it still has one light switch that's 125% the size of modern ones and you have to push it really hard and instead of a little click it goes THUNK when the lights go on and it's SO SATISFYING.

I went on the Galactic Starcruiser (the expensive Disney star wars hotel that's actually the ultimate larping experience) and there's an engineering room and secondary bridge the guests can use. On the first day, even though the activities weren't activated and the machines only had limited reactivity, people- kids and adults- were playing around in them. And because it was star wars, everything was big and appeared to be analog. Buttons are nice.

oh my god this New Yorker article about the Titan holy fucking shit fuck???

Some notes: 1. the electrical system was designed by engineering undergrads who were working as interns. 2. because it is illegal to take passengers on an unclassed experimental submersible, they called the passengers "mission specialists" & instead of buying tickets they made donations. 3. the satellite beacon was held onto the outside of the sub with zip ties. 4. when Lochridge (the whistleblower) quit, Stockton Rush asked HIS FINANCE DIRECTOR if she wanted to be the pilot and she was like "sir I am an accountant" and the experience of having her boss ask his accountant to be the pilot made her so freaked out that she ALSO quit the company 5. the carbon fiber used to make the hull was bought from a deep discount from Boeing because it was past its expiry date for use in airplanes

AND MUCH, MUCH MORE

Dreamed that there was a mundane-setting TTRPG I’m going to call “Greg and Maureen” where the players are visiting a non-player character couple their characters are friends with. But the couple is going through a rough spot! The objective was to investigate their relationship and either to help their marriage or hasten their divorce. It’s always small town and you’re always staying at their house. Players could add a little flavor of how they knew Greg and Maureen and even choose some minor traits for them before the game.

I’d played the game with another group before, but I didn’t know there were multiple paths. There’s a note Greg writes confessing to something, but depending on the dice roll it’s a different note. The content of a major plot point depended on a 2d6 dice roll.

In the dream, I’d previously played a version where he confessed to cheating on Maureen with another woman, so I thought Maureen should see the note, but in the game we were playing, my friend Celia found the note, which actually said that Greg was dishonorably discharged from the army for a gay relationship (he’s bisexual) before he met Maureen, and that he had lied about having had an honorable discharge. So for a while I came off as an asshole because I kept saying that Maureen needed to know the contents of the note so that she could confront him about what he did to her, and my friend seemed to me to be unusually blasé about what I thought was an affair.

There were other possible notes. In other timelines he had never had an affair, never been in the army, never even loved her, etc. There was another possible note where you learned he’d lied to her that he was good at track in high school (imagine an impressive mile time, which my dream mind supplied as 6:40, though that won’t even get you into varsity level) when he was actually bad at track in high school (14 minute mile). This was a lie he’d told, like, once, and he and Maureen almost never talked about running or high school sports.

In every possible timeline, Greg was Utterly Wracked with guilt about his secret. Yes, even the high school track universe.

Also, if players had decided that Greg was white before the game, you could unlock a timeline where his secret was that his distant ancestors had been in league with THE Devil from Christianity between like 1830s and 1910s. (The devil was just their accountant. He was ashamed of them for non-devil reasons.) In this timeline, you could actually meet the devil.

You didn’t find a note in every timeline, so sometimes you had to work off other evidence. I had only ever played mainly investigating Greg, but you could also focus on investigating Maureen. I think the other players and I just suspected him of hiding something every time, due to our biases. Sorry Greg! Guess we weren’t real gregheads.

Canon Queer Star Wars Character Bracket

Gays in Star Wars, its more likely than you think.

Welcome to the bracket for queer Star Wars characters, from movie characters quietly confirmed to be queer to the most minor of book characters. Here they will compete to find the ultimate gay in space! This is for characters who are textually (or almost so) queer, and as such there is no need for nominations.

Every poll comes with a description of each characters, but we encourage you to submit propaganda for each character about why they should be voted for. Any propaganda against another character that is judged overly hostile or more for discourse shit-stirring than good fun won’t be published (if its off anon, we’ll let you know what’s wrong with it)

The bracket will begin on July 5th, with 3 polls per day, each running for a week. Only after all polls resolve will the next round begin.

The bracket is being run by @absolxguardian and @bisexualwintermoon

friendly reminder for the new twitter refugees:

  • change your icon/pfp and put something coherent in your blog description or you're going to get blocked bcs people think you're a bot
  • this site is built around reblogs, so please actually reblog posts(especially art and fics!!)
  • you can set your likes and follows to private
  • checkmarks here are a meme and mean nothing
  • follower counts are private and we like it that way, so get used to not judging people by that metric
  • drama and discourse is boring, use your blacklist and block button liberally
  • DON'T CENSOR YOURSELF!! we can swear and say kill and make fun of corporations all we want, and if you tiktok-ify your tags people who have things blacklisted for whatever reason will still see them, and people who want to see that content won't be able to find it!! spell words out normally, you won't get in trouble!!
  • tumblr live is sketchy as hell and full of fake accounts, if you decide to use it anyway may god have mercy on your soul o7
  • be nice to the reddit refugees, they're our friends <3

wonder if i can find enough convincing evidence in motr that archie did kill david... i mean i know who actually did it (imo it was pretty obvious. i correctly guessed who did it before i even started questioning people. although admittedly i did not guess how or why) but if i ask around for archies motive, will i find one?

sorry archie i just think it would be funny

WHO THE FUCK DID THE MURDER!?

okay the answer is under this readmore for anyone who would like to know!!!!

Oh thank you. When Phoebe convinced me she didn't kill David, I deadass forgot that people don't die when they're killed in the Neath, and her not seeming consumed by rage or jealous not me to doubt if it was her.
