One of my favorite Wisconsin traditions: a Bloody Mary with a beer chaser.
I’ve been distracted by shiny objects on Twitter and Instagram, but hello Tumblr!
Avoiding anything election and faking working. A friend suggested Pabst Blue Ribbon Hard Coffee will be our support. Also, redownloaded Tumblr as another distraction.
It tastes like a Reese’s peanut butter cup, right? Not wrong!
I switched to Founder’s breakfast Stout and playlist of Josh Ritter and the Secret Sisters.

Oh man. Long time.
I introduced my students yesterday to https://informationscienceantelope.tumblr.com/. If you want to dig deep into the weirdness of info sci, Buckland’s “Information as Thing” is a fun trip.
In other news, I just started serving beer at a brewery as a side hustle. I kinda love it.
Who probably should have gotten a hotel near the conference center but is staying with a friend on just outskirts of Philly because she’s cheap but is definitely drinking and working at Milkboy, alone? RIGHT ACROSS from the conference? This woman, right here.
actually this bar is showing Ghostbusters II. I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING. Wonderfulness!!

KING PRINCESS by Daria Kobayashi Ritch for Rodarte (2019)
More than a little obsessed with King Princess at the moment.

I’m teaching Foundations of LIS for the fourth semester this spring. It’s usually the first course our students take because it’s 1.) required and 2.) foundational. Yes. I focus on connecting current library issues/movements/trends with LIS history and theory and practice, and bring in lots of guest speakers outside of the traditional (but awesome) public, academic, school librarianship. But there’s tons of room for improvement.
Librarian friends or librarian friends in an MLIS program, what would you have liked to learn more about (or learned at all) in this type of core class?
Hello from Evanston, IL! And tonight Chicago!
I ordered all the dark beers because why not confuse myself.
Someone is about to attend a virtual meeting slightly tipsy.
I came to this brewery to buy a bomber or crowler of one of my best friend’s favorite beers, but it apparently sold out super quickly. It’s her birthday tomorrow so partially this is her fault too.
I think my first post in forever should be a rant about how people don’t rerack their weights in the gym. Then I have to do it and crash my forehead into a rack bar. Also, maybe I should learn to be less klutzy. One of them or both.
Goddamn undergrads (I’m making assumptions here) at my university gym.
Is there a force field that I can create around myself when I travel and at home that screams, “LEAVE ME ALONE, YOU CREEPY DUDE.”?
If not, I working on my condensing and bored stare. I can do both.
I deleted someone’s number a few days ago, but now I want to send a REALLY snarky text. But I’m a grown ass woman and better than that. (I’m not but I can’t retrieve the number even using all my librarian skills so I’m saying I’m better than that.)
Prepping for Annual which is increasingly significant but also trying to teach a core course for my MLIS students. Who are so wonderful. Don’t every undervalue a kind email you send to an instructor, colleague, random person you think is awesome. It means a lot.
Random because I didn’t want to end this cheesy: currently at a dive bar near my apartment and two people at the bar are discussion the British royal family, the Queen’s corgis, and critiquing Charles. It’s amusing to me anyway. You’re welcome.
Going to a wedding in Denver this weekend. Trying out Rent the Runway because friends said it was a thing. TBH I really don’t like weddings. Especially if it’s in a church. (This one is.) Especially if the couple didn’t opt for an open bar. (I’m skeptical.) Especially if I don’t approve of the beer selection. (Likely. I can be a jerk. But a silently brooding one.)
I’m not saying weddings should plan themselves around me (that would just be silly!) but being in a church after 13 years of intensely avoiding them is going to be some fun PTSD business. But at least it will be in an designer dress?
I feel like I’m a tumblr disappointment at this point but if you aren’t listening to the podcast Lore and/or watching the show on Amazon...why???
Unless you don’t like weird history and folklore, then I totally don’t get it but understand.
