I’m so embarrassed to have to type this out but this is the last place I can turn for the support of my friends and community. I’m a struggling Latina lesbian trying to make my way in the world, and with COVID19 my financial situation deteriorated until I was forced to move back in with my parents.

A few nights ago a person I once considered a friend outed me to my parents because he was upset I rejected his romantic advances. Upon finding out my parents decided to kick me out, and I’ve had to stay with a friend. Now that she can no longer house me, I’m trying to find an apartment and need help staying at a motel and paying for food and gas.

Let’s go over some things, shall we?

Jenny was originally designed to be a shape-shifting superhero; her “pigtails” are rocket thrusters, and her entire body can morph and shift to create weapons. Given her standard appearance is more to look like a humanoid girl, it seems reasonable that that’s an appearance she chose, rather than her default, especially because we know she can modify her appearance however she likes, albeit restricted to her two base colors unless she gets a new paint-job.
Though her mother learns to be more supportive of her later on, Jenny was originally confined to house arrest save for doing her job, supposedly because the world around her wouldn’t accept her.
She is canonically six-foot-six, which is rather tall, though it seems the average height of humanity has also gone up. So it’s not too uncommon for other men to be taller than her, but she’s also taller than most people. She has so far only dated other men who are taller than her.
She gains two different disguises for looking human. The first one doesn’t pass at all, while the second passing one convinces her to behave like a normal human girl, whispering into her ear to not only look, but behave like a “normal” girl, even if it’s not in her best interests.
It’s evidently quite common for androids to be made from different base personality points- Kenny, a boy she dated for a little while, was a re-purposed dog robot, and still carried over some of his dog traits.
The two most popular girls in school specifically have it out for her, because she’s a robot “pretending” to be a girl.
Jenny is allowed to play in her high school’s male football team.

I’d suspected Jenny was trans coded for a long time, but this scene was what had me 100% convinced.

Prior to this episode Jenny had always treated Ms. Wakeman as her mother, always referring to her as “mom/mother”; which caused Wakeman to be mocked by her peers. Ms. Wakeman was typically cold towards Jenny, always referring to her as XJ9 (essentially Jenny’s deadname) and usually treating her as nothing more than a defence droid. But in this scene Ms. Wakeman is actually seeing Jenny in danger and rushes to protect her, finally calling her “my daughter” for the first time. As soon as she does, the pure joy and amazement in Jenny’s voice just makes my heart swell.

This show is so incredible and SO ahead of it’s time.

Worth noting that the creator of the show acknowledged this, basically saying “We didn’t intend for Jenny to be trans coded, but we’re ecstatic that trans people are finding comfort in her. Just because we didn’t intend the subtext doesn’t mean it’s not there.” Very cool and way the hell better than Hartman handles shit like this.

Listen, William Golding was The Worst and fundamentally misunderstood human nature. Lord of the Flies was inspired in part by his experience in WWII and in part by his days a schoolmaster trying to teach unruly young boys but what most sources won’t tell you is that he pit the kids against each other in the first place.

LOTF tries to argue that humans are immoral and savage by nature, but we are demonstrably not. We have a tendency to work together and form society because we’re pack animals and, from an evolutionary standpoint, it’s easier to hunt and raise young as a group. Those who argue otherwise need to consider the fact that we established society and lived together in groups long before religion ever existed to act as a higher power or source of morality.

Yeah, people suck. But we don’t suck that much. Don’t project ur shitty life experiences into a novel u want to act as an allegory for human nature. Give us the damn credit where it’s due.

Tom and Maddie headcanons? I love those two, they’re so sweet and wholesome! If I ever choose to be in a serious relationship again I’d like for it to be what they have. I love them! And thank you! I love her—she’s a punk! ((In case you didn’t know, I adopted a rescue puppy on 09/05/2020, she’s an Australian Cattle dog and I LOVE her)).

Tom and Maddie cannot cook! They’ve tried several times I’m the past to learn how to make a decent meal, but it’s always turned out rough. ~~Translation: it’s always caught on fire.~~ They really didn’t start trying to cook their meals until they’ve adopted Sonic as their son. They make an effort to cook every night and sit together as on big family.
Tom lost his mother at a young age. He remembers bits and pieces of her, but not all of her. He lost her too young. Tom grew up under the care of his father and with assistance of Crazy Carl—thé family’s life long friend. He doesn’t talk much about his mother’s passing, but he will talk about it with Maddie. He’s only mentioned if briefly to Sonic.
Maddie is Tom’s person. She’s his missing piece. Being around her makes him feel safe. When he’s with her, his confidence skyrockets and he feels invisible. She helps him become a better version of himself, as well as always has his back 100%.
Tom is Maddie’s person. He’s her missing piece. Tom is a very loyal and dedicated person to whom he loves. He would move mountains, sacrifice himself, and give her anything he has to make sure that she is okay. She trusts him with her heart.
Tom and Maddie met almost ten years ago when Crazy Carl cornered The Blue Devil in Farmer Zimmer’s barn. Tom and Wade were called to the scene to arrest whatever was in the barn, but it escaped before anyone could react. All that Tom recalls was being rubbed over by a blue streak and lightning shocking him. Wade, trying his best, tool Tom to visit the only doctor in town, Madeline “Maddie” Robinson. The doctor had been out all day, gone fishin’. Maddie the Vet was the next best option. Tom woke up to staring at the most beautiful woman that he had ever seen in his life and fell in love with her instantly. He visited her everyday at the clinic until Maddie agreed to go on a date with him.
Maddie didn’t know that Tom was the one until their first date... which went completely WRONG. Anything that could have happened did happen. Dinner was caught on fire, they accidentally locked themselves out the house, it rained on them out on the patio, Maddie’s Jeep had her engine stolen, and they ended up missing their movie at the movie theater. They stayed in for the night and slept on the couch, then Tom took her to work the next morning and paid to fix her Jeep. She could have left that night, but she loved spending time with him, he never game up and improvised well. What made her fall in love was when they were watching the stars together at night, him explains everything and talking as if they were longtime friends. That’s when she fell in love with him.
Tom loves Maddie’s snort laugh. He goes nuts for it and tries anything that he can to get her to laugh. It’s best when he tickles her. Meanwhile, Tom will laugh so hard that he sneezes.
Both share a deep love for animals. They both love to help animals in danger, donate to any rescue center in town, and they’ve fostered animals in the past. Ozzie was a foster dog that they’ve rescued, he was a dog that was sick, the owners abandoned him, and someone found him on the street. Maddie and Tom bonded right away with Ozzie and kept him after meeting him.
Maddie loves to steal Tom’s t-shirts and hoodies to wear. They’re big, they’re soft, and she likes that it smells like his cologn and donut glaze on it. She wears them all the time, even taking some to wear as a night gown. Sorry Tom, they’re bae’s now... you can say, “goodbye” to your favorite flannel.
There are some nights where Tom has to take a night shift. He hates them due to not being with Maddie. However, Maddie always shows up to the Sheriff’s Department at 03:00am with some hot coffee, a box of donuts, a breakfast burrito, and breakfast sandwiches. They’ll stay up late with each other all through the night and they head home together when Wade comes in. (They usually spend the whole night flirting and playing board games that she brought with her).
Maddie is a very good singer. Tom loves the idea of singing, but he’s not very good at it. It sounds like a scraggled turkey. However, it doesn’t stop the two from singing duets in the car.
...Tom and Maddie have tried in the past to have children...
Maddie has a lead foot when it comes to driving. She loves to go over the speed limit and drive like a NASCAR racer. It scares Tom completely when he’s in the passenger seat and ends up getting motion sickness after.
Tom and Maddie are at the point in their relationship where they can look at each other and know what the other thinks deep down. They’ve also learned to read their small cues, such as Maddie fluttering her eyes when she wants Tom to pay attention or her, or when Tom clicks his tongue when he needs gum.
Depending on who gets up first, Tom or Maddie likes to watch the other sleep in the early morning. Tom will caress her hair and plant a kiss on her forehead before he gets up. Maddie likes to give Tom an ear rub—yes, Tom likes his ears rubbed—and she wakes him up with a kiss. Sometimes Ozzie will come and wake up the two with his food dish in his mouth, but that’s besides the point.

When it comes down to making life-changing decisions, the two are very quick to sacrifice their happiness for the other. As the two were quickly fixing the house, they’ve realized that Sonic, himself, was returning home to his cave. The two followed him into the forest and saw where he lived. Right then and there they knew that the Space Hog needed a him and that he needed a family. They moved everything into their home and set it up, even returning the Olive Garden gift card in return for adoption papers. When Sonic was welcomed home, the two presented him to his new room and showed that they had legally made him their son. That bit of happiness went a long way for them, it made them both appreciate the gift that they were given and they’ve thanked their lucky stars every day.

You‘re all very wonderful and very creative people! Tom and Maddie do deserve more love, I would love to see a scene of how the two met each other in the second film. I would love it! Sonic the Hedgehog: Random Thought (aka Sonic is a Middle School Boy)

As a middle school teacher, it thrills me to the bone to think that Sonic will actually get to finally go to school. A lot of kids who I work with haven’t had a real school experience because their anxiety was so bad, they flat out refused to even walk into the building. It’s always amazing to see these same kids making friends, saving seats for their buddies in class, and joking around in the hallways.

I can see a kid like Sonic swinging his feat, so excited to be a part of the entire experience. Talking to his friends during classes. Reading The Hobbit with his class and underlining important sections. Going to after school clubs to do homework.

Parents come to me sometimes to say how excited they are that their kid finally invited a friend from school over, and I’m sure Maddie and Tom are in the same boat when Sonic runs up to the car with a girl his age in tow asking if she can come over and play the new video game they got. I’m sure they’re just as thrilled the first time he’s invited for a sleepover with a bunch of middle schoolers.

I’m sure these two are ecstatic when he has a few friends over to do homework, and the kids he’s chosen as his friends are all very polite and well behaved.

I’m sure they’re absolutely head over heels when he joins the soccer team or takes a stab at drama or even manages to make it into robotics, which he has a real knack for.

As a middle school teacher, it just makes me really happy to think that Sonic can reach all those important benchmarks.

Going from a kid living in the woods to getting a chance to actually be a part of school, get that social experience, make friends, and carve out this little place for himself in a community of kids his age - that’s all sorts of amazing. And Maddie and Tom are going to be so emotional watching it happen.

I also really think it’s important for Tom and Maddie. In their process of realizing their parents, I think it really must hit them when they have a volcano project in their kitchen or are doing their best to help with homework or need to host a sleepover for Sonic and three other boys (who are going to most likely stay up all night with junkfood playing video games, so the term sleeover is more of a formality…)

As a middle school teacher, my concerns don’t only extend to the students. They cover the parents as well. And parents hit benchmarks along with their kids. They’re learning and growing how to help their child. They’re figuring it out along the way.

Tom and Maddie are learning how to be parents to a middle school child, and I think that all of those special school-related moments are going to be so emotional and special and good.

Maddie and Tom would have a conference with his homeroom teacher early on in the year. She doubles as his math teacher. A kind, round faced woman with her unruly hair pulled into a ponytail.

“He hasn’t had any real friends, so we’re really thrilled for him,” Maddie would explain.

“But we’d rather… pad the way a little,” Tom added.

His teacher crossed her arms, leaning back in her chair. “Sonic is a perfectly capable boy. He can handle himself with the kids. And so far, he’s been doing a great job. You don’t need to worry, Mr. and Mrs. Wachowski-”

“Oh, we agree!” Maddie said, nodding. “But… it’s not the kids we’re worried about.”

The teacher tapped her fingers on the desk, nodding slowly. This she understood. She’d been a teacher for 8 years, and somehow had learned that through all the strange cruelties middle schoolers could occasionally delve out, their parents were always the true culprits. Sonic was a sweet boy. The last thing he needed was a few offhanded comments.

Tom leaned forward. “He’s really trying and these are all new experiences for him. He’s so excited. We don’t want anyone putting a wrench in that. If you could just let the other parents know as it comes up…?

“Sure,” says the teacher. “I can definitely do that.”

The parents seemed to sag in relief.

And that’s how it goes. The teacher sends out sly emails to other kids parents whenever she hears Sonic chatting with another child in the classroom about coming over and playing this new game! or I can help you with that science worksheet!-

She even has an email crafted with everything but the names filled in.

Dear [PARENTS],

I’m writing to let you know that [CHILD’S NAME] made a friend with one of our newest additions. His name is Sonic Wachowski and he’s a very sweet, polite, and well behaved boy. You will have nothing but good things to report about him, I’m sure. I do want to inform you early on that he is a 2′6 blue hedgehog. Most recently, you may have known of him by the name Blue Devil. He was newly adopted by Maddie and Tom Wachowski and has been thriving ever since in our community. If you have any questions, please direct them to me and I’ll be happy to either answer them or give you one of his parents’ numbers.

Police officers shoot and kill Kid in Los Angeles: ‘He ran because he was scared’

Andrew Heney, owner of the Freeway autoshop, told a local CBS affiliate: “We had a security guard that was out front, because we had just had certain issues with people tagging and stuff like that.”

“And then the police came up, and they pulled their guns on him and he ran because he was scared, and they shot and killed him. He’s got a clean background and everything. There’s no reason.”

The sheriff’s department are claiming Andres Gyuardado had a gun but the autoshop owner and witness to the shooting says that’s absolutely not true he never carried a weapon and didn’t that night.

What’s even worse is that right after the shooting, the Store owner said the cops immediately destroyed all the surrounding security cameras, broke into the store, stole his DVR with the recordings, and then created an illegal warrant after doing all this.

The shop owner also states he never called the police and doesn’t understand because “There was no reason for them to be there.”
