We're a trans couple who can't pay rent and bills without help. I'm physically disabled and haven't been able to find work I can do, and we still don't have access to our benefits. For food, electric, hot water and rent we need £1500 for the month.

If you are able to help, this is my PayPal and this is my Cashapp.

Thank you ❤

from celestial_investments via insta, i haven’t seen anything about it here so figured i’d repost? it is incredibly appalling that SSI has remained this way for SO long. i don’t understand how the government expects disabled people to survive and thrive under this bizarre ruleset

if someone would be willing to help ID this post it would be greatly appreciated!! 💖

HELP ME AVOID HOMELESSNESS!!

June 26, 2021

Hi everyone, I'm Drew/Lottie, a 19 year old bisexual nb person living with my abusive parents. They recently gave me an ultimatum that I have three months (until October 1st) to move out of their house, at which point I will become homeless. I have family in Portland who are willing to let me stay with them (I live in Maryland), but if it comes to that I will still need funds to secure transportation and contribute to rent until I find work in the area. I am currently working a temp job that ends in a week, and actively seeking new employment.

I have been trying for about a year to find a place to move into with my friend Lake @drkatz without success. I need help saving money for rental application fees, security deposit and first month's rent. Low end 2 bedroom apartments where I currently live run for around 850-900 dollars, and since I would be paying both half of the deposit and half of the first month's rent, I need at least $850. If that goal is not met, any donations I receive will go towards plane tickets.

Any amount of money you can spare would be a tremendous help to me. I know times are hard for everyone right now, so boosting and sharing this post is a great way to help if you can't contribute financially. My p@yp@l is @shabutiee and this post will be updated with progress as time passes so please check the notes before donating! I'm also open to taking art commissions, and I will draw something for anyone who helps, just provide a screenshot of your donation.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!!!

I’ve cracked the code. Next time you correct someone on your pronouns and they respond with that generally positive but slightly defensive vibe like “oh sorry, I’m new to this so it’ll take me a while” just hit em with one of these:

“No worries, I’m practicing at reminding people and you seem like a safe person to practice with”

Boom. Took the perceived blame off their shoulders and made the connection for them that being corrected = being trusted. Rinse and repeat. It’s also not a lie, correcting people on my pronouns is stressful and personally I really am super cautious about it

I figure some angry people will jump into the notes on this one so let me clarify: trans people do not have to be nice or coddle cis feelings. Some of us like living low-conflict lives though, so get off our dicks about it

Cis people if you would like to avoid having this interaction in the first place, try “thank you for correcting me”

Please remember that almost everyone around you is traumatized. I didn’t understand this when I was younger. I wondered why people acted so strangely and irrationally. Maybe all children wonder this. The author Robert Anton Wilson said (paraphrasing), “We have never seen a completely sane adult human.” No one makes it out of this life alive. It’s not their fault. Mercy, kindness, forgiving — these are what makes one human. They are other names for love. People break in the strangest of ways.

“Under the present brutal and primitive conditions on this planet, every person you meet should be regarded as one of the walking wounded. we have never seen a man or woman not slightly deranged by either anxiety or grief. we have never seen a totally sane human being." — Robert Anton Wilson
