ok so. very interesting where ghostboo is going as a character. it feels a lot like new snowchester ghostbur in the way that like. neither of them are able to make any emotional progress as a consequence of dying
ghostbur would have a conversation with someone and confront the mistakes of his alive self only to forget about it immediately because it made him too sad to think about it. the incident with fundy specifically comes to mind, where fundy was getting upset with him for blowing up l'manburg and having phil kill him in front of everyone and ghostbur was clearly upset about it but the next stream he just? forgot about the whole conversation? and for a time he even forgot that fundy was his son
and now ranboo is unable to emotionally deal with everything happening with tubbo because if he feels too many emotions his soul is lost forever. but he doesn't have the amnesia to protect him so he's avoiding everything instead and it's clearly not working. idk something something putting a bandaid over a bullet hole might stop the bleeding, but it doesn't take away the pain
it's almost like the punishment for canon death isn't the permanency of it, but the complete lack of closure for yourself and the people you love
