Fairies are typically associated with the times between dusk and dawn. However there are a small number of nocturnal fairy species. These fairies tend to be highly elusive, even more so than their diurnal cousins. Most are solitary creatures though there is speculation surrounding certain species, such as the Fatum Luna, who do seem to have a hierarchical system.

It’s worth noting that Kenneth spent the entire episode making the game (and the subsequent fight) as inclusive as possible for JJ and his disabled friends (all of whom were played by disabled actors/actresses).

Bonus #2

Of course I had to show the best part:

I forgot about Speechless! I was watching it and enjoying it. Time to find and start again.

Also, read to the end

Found this strange ad for "Human Ivory" tucked inside the pages of an old book. Looks like it's from the 30s? If anyone has more info on this please let me know!

// This is my contribution to the Museum of Absence Zine that's being created in the Discord server I run! If you're interested in joining, join here and go to the "Museum of Absence" thread!

J’ai trouvé cette pub étrange pour de “l’Ivoire humain” entre deux pages d’un vieux livre. On dirait que ça date des années 30 ? Si quelqu’un a plus d’infos dessus, s’il vous plaît dites-le moi !

Big thanks to Racout for the all the high-quality translations!

Sorry I'm late, I got added to the Wild Hunt last night and ran and reveled with them for what felt like 100 years plus a day until I landed the killing blow on a stag with bronze antlers then suddenly woke in my bed, willow leaves in my hair, a nameless song echoing in my ears, and my hands still bloody, so yeah, totally missed my alarm and stuff.

stereotypes about people “really interested in WWI” are wildly different than stereotypes about people “really interested in WWII”

What to do when cornered by a WWII buff: Brace yourself and take stock of your surroundings. Your first course of action should be to assess the sort of person you are speaking to. Notice any tattoos or personal decorations they might be displaying—hopefully you are already familiar with common Neo-Nazi symbols. If you see swastikas, the numbers 88, 14, or 18, or the letters SS shapes like lightning bolts, then run and/or fire at will. Be very wary of skulls, eagles, German words, and runes; they may be innocent tattoos, but they may also be red flags. Proceed with caution and listen to how they talk about Hitler. If you can determine that the buff is not an overtly far-right Nazi sympathizer, they may have a weird obsession with the idea of a Just and Noble War and have some fucked up ideas about what is good for humanity and/or the natural order. Make a quick escape if they start referring to Japanese people with a single syllable or talk about how Americans were “better” back then. If none of these, you can probably relax—you may be talking to someone whose family fled the Holocaust or were forced into Japanese internment camps and took an interest in the period out of necessity and frustration and the immediate relevance to their lives. Look for bags under their eyes or corny science joke T-shirts; you might be talking to a physicist interested in nuclear history. Maybe they’re fascinated by modern world politics or planes or weaponry.

What to do when cornered by a WWI buff:

Point over their shoulder and say, “Hey, look! A collection of depressing poetry by dead gay soldiers!” and run while they’re distracted. If this doesn’t work, brace yourself for a long, dreary explanation of the mechanics of trench warfare or early planes.

Excuse you this is blatant “OKAY BUT IT’S TIME TO TALK ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF THE DEATH TOLLS ON SUBSEQUENT SOCIETY, THE INTERTWINING OF THE GREAT INFLUENZA, AND THE COMPLEX NATION-BUILDING FROM PREVIOUSLY FRACTURED STATES THAT PRECEDED IT AND EVERYONE FORGETS ABOUT ABOUT!!” erasure.

I mean yes OBVIOUSLY also the trenches and the planes and the dead gay poets those are all PART OF THE ABOVE but - !

Look over there! It’s dead gay poet with deep and complicated feelings about nationality and the Treaty of Versailles!

Me waiting for y'all to stop this shipping and age nonsense so we can start talking about Hobies very real trauma and how it effects him as a black man living under a police state

SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK.

I was talking to a friend about the differences in the way Hobie and Noir are affected by their direct confrontation methods against fascism.

Noir is pretty melodramatic, he says he enjoys punching nazis but he also demonstrates guilt around the "moral ambiguity of his violent actions", on top of seeming generally depressed when you look too closely at him, what with the whole Burning Matches Down To His Fingertips Just To Feel Something.

Contrasted with Hobie who seems very playful about his politics, implying that his activism is performance art, literally took Spiderpunk to the runway, etc. If we take a step back and think about the larger implications of his universe, yes, he should be deeply traumatized and you'd think it would manifest in easily identifyable ways, but it doesn't.

I personally think Hobie's truama is manifesting in my favorite type of black resistance, which is literally just "existing and being happy in a world that wants you dead is a form of defiance." You're not gonna catch Hobie looking bogged down by the weight of fascism because he's dedicating his energy into living his best life out of SPITE. His anger goes into taking care of himself and his own because the number 1 thing fascists want from ppl like him is to roll over and die
