So this blog was originally supposed to be a crafting blog, but it quickly devolved because I'm trash that way.

Anyway, here, have a finished Elim Garak cross stitch, I'm incapable of thinking about anything other than the bastard lizard (affectionate).

@mayaminamoto asked me how I deal with big pieces of fabric when I cross stitch. While it’s not perfect, I find rolling it down onto the hoop helps get the bulk of excess fabric out of the way and doesn’t crumple it!

now that it’s 2020, i think it’s time for another adaption of pride & prejudice. 15 years after the 2005 version and i think we’re ready

Absolutely not 😂

We just got a truly cursed-looking Emma, please leave Jane Austen alone

There are so many Austen stories that haven’t been done well, a P&P remake is not what we need

Northanger Abbey fans, the time is now

PLEASE

The Northanger Abbey adaptation is horrendous, but the book is so good

I actually love all the film adaptions EXCEPT for the truly horrific Mansfield Park and Persuasion that released early 2000s

I can enjoy almost all of them bc I like the story and the main actors are okay, but honestly, is it too much to ask that they be pretty to look at, too?

Like, I know pride and prejudice (2005) is somewhat controversial bc it’s a movie and you can’t fit in all the little stuff and it’s set in 1797 and not enough bonnets blah blah blah… But no adaptation has ever captured the heart of the original so well, and part of that is bc Joe Wright made it FREAKING GORGEOUS. The music, the cinematography, the set design, it was all GORGEOUS. Nothing portrays a beautiful story more than a beautiful movie (so long as the themes and the story are still kept in tact of course) and none of the other adaptations got that beauty that p&p did.

Okay, rant over.

I 100% agree. While I prefer the way the story was told in the 1995 version, there is no doubt that the 2005 version is a more beautiful movie to watch. The cinematography alone is stunning let alone the music, set design ect....

Bees make me feel productive, idk.

I started this one around the time Quarantine hit, which I think was a little under a month ago for me. Pattern is from the book “500 Crosstitch Blocks” (2001).
