One Piece Characters & Their Drawings

this is an amazing collab with my dear @shrimp-sanji ❤ (and of course, go check her 100 followers event!) i had so much fun with this one, and i can't stop laughing at luffy's drawing :')

Luffy: As we’ve seen before, the captain isn’t the best artist. He doesn’t try to be, though. Most of the things he draws, it’s either to illustrate something (like the fishman and the mechanic he wanted for the crew) or just to have fun. He also tries to copy the portraits Usopp makes, but gets bored very quickly.

Zoro: Draws with three pencils, but isn’t very good at it anyway. The swordsman often makes poor Sanji portraits just to annoy the cook. He holds the pencil so strong that he tears the paper by accident or rips the paper while trying to erase something.

Nami: She can draw with ink instead of pencil, after all, she draws her maps. The navigator can draw other things, but not many people know that, because as you can imagine, she doesn’t do it for free. But Nami can draw anything for a small fee.

Usopp: The best artist in the crew, he practiced a lot while growing up since he was alone most of the time. It was a way for him to pass time. He draws lots of portraits of his friends too, and sometimes gives some as a present.

Sanji: His handwriting is very nice, but his drawings… Not so much. The blonde can only draw stick figures, and often draws something for Robin and Nami. Usually it’s a “picture” of them, with lots of hearts.

Chopper: Now, Chopper mostly draws things to study. So he has many sketches of hearts, brains and anatomy in general. He also draws sakura flowers whenever he’s feeling down. His notebooks are full of them. Yes, he has a doctor handwriting.

Robin: She can draw child-like drawings. Not stick figures, but a house, a flower and the sun in the corner. Her drawings are mostly to pass time and a way to cope whenever she’s stressed or upset. Most of the time, she’s reading books, but drawing is also one of her hobbies. She loves to draw for Chopper as well. In memoriam Going Merry.

Franky: He can draw ships perfectly well, but his other drawings aren’t the best. But since he draws often, making sketches of ships, his other drawings are mostly a way to pass time, so they're very cartoonish and not very serious.

Brook: Surprisingly, his drawings are very cute and colorful, especially because he was alone in a dark place for so long. Butterflies, little animals and flowers. Not what you’d expect from a skeleton. He doesn’t show it to anyone and keeps the safe to make sure his crewmates won't find them.

1. Fluttering Feelings by Ssamba

This was the very first “shoujo ai” manhwa that I ever read so I probably love it more than I should. Before you even get into this you should know that the slow burn in this manhwa is absolutely Horrendous and that basically the entire universe is against the main couple getting together. If you’re willing to overlook this flaw(????) FF is a super charming little manhwa with some really sweet and downright heart-wrenching moments. Unfortunately it will remain incomplete as the author passed away earlier this year, but I would still highly recommend it if you haven’t read it already. 

2. Serenade by Keum Kyesoo

All you need to know about this manhwa is that I finished it in one sitting (deadass from midnight to like 5 in the morning,, it is That Good) and that I spent like twenty minutes on two panels because I was crying so hard that I couldn’t read. Also, it’s about pro piano players,, like,,, big sexy. Beautiful art. Intriguing plot line. Insanely awesome side characters. And a crazy ass bitch that just won’t quit. What more can you ask for? 3. Moonlight Garden by Kang Unnie

This is the fantasy(??)/historical manhwa I didn’t know that I needed until I read it. First of all,,, thE FUCKING WORLD BUILDING oh my godDDdD. Fucking amazing. The art is beautiful and the concept is So So Unique and Complex I can’t even begin to do it justice by simply summarising it. All I can say is to read it (although at first you might need to wrap your head around the plot line,,, it might take a little getting used to). MG is one of the only manhwas where I can confidently say that I fully support and love the main character (also idk if this is worth anything but this is the second manhwa that has made me cry after Serenade lmao) [NSFW]

4. Miss Angel and Miss Devil by MAEU Malgeum 

This is the cutest shit that has ever blessed my life. It focuses on two main pairings and they’re both cute as fuck. It’s split into structured arcs that are dedicated to one of the two couples which makes it easier to get a feel of each character and the dynamics of each pairing. There’s some angst and one-sided pining (especially with the pair on the right) but mostly it’s just heart-warming and a really nice read. [a couple chapters are NSFW] 

5. What Does The Fox Say by Team Gaji 

Yes, yes. We all knew this was coming. The staple of wlw manhwa… Okay but first of all, I’ve got to say that I don’t really care for the main couple in WDTFS. What puts this manhwa in my favourites is the character of Seju (pink) and her relationship with Sumin (black). Every single scene/chapter that includes an interaction between these two just Exudes pure chemistry. I don’t think the authors intended for Seju to be so appealing but It Happened. Baek Seju had so much potential as a character that I’m disappointed that she was somewhat stuck on the sidelines. She wasn’t your traditional ‘easy-to-hate’ character but she also was never given the opportunity to fully develop which left her in this strange grey zone between main character and irrelevant side character (that’s as objective as I can be about Seju, I love that bitch). Personal opinions about Seju aside, WDTFS is an extremely well-made and polished manhwa with beautiful colouring and fairly nice art. A majority of this manhwa is focusing on developing the main couple’s relationship so the plot line is somewhat vague and makes a semi-regular appearance throughout WDTFS. [NSFW] 

6. It Would Be Great If You Didn’t Exist by Carbonara 

A sweet little manhwa that’s bound to make you smile while simultaneously causing you to melt because,, gOD these two… There’s nothing dark or serious about this manhwa which is what I love about it. It’s cute and simple and cuts to the point. The way that the couple originally gets together is kind of abrupt and strangely out of place but once you get into their relationship you kinda just forget about it because they’re literally just a great couple LMAO a;slkdjf;alkd. 

2 years from now it will be February 22nd, 2022 or 2/22/22 and on a Tuesday, becoming the ultimate 2’s day.
