No one:
Not a single soul in Hell:
Not even the Crone:
Emilia di Carlo: turns Prince Wrath, the Devil himself, into her personal nursemaid TWICE, and makes him feed her berries while sitting in his lap
Wrath wrapping his arms around Emilia when she crushed the leaf as if he could protect and shield her from whatever death curse might have been if she had got his name wrong, because he genuinely thought she was going to die and was so afraid of losing her, and then, when she's okay, he holds her tighter, both in relief and his conviction that she would hate him now that she knew who he was, so this moment, in his mind, was the last time he would get to be so close to her and he wanted to hold onto it for as long as he could....I will never get over it. 😢
ALRIGHT, THEORIES FOR KOTC.
MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD. Don't read this post before finishing it. Save it or something, if you want, but don't read before finishing KOTC!
I also posted the questions I have here, so if you have any theories about them, feel free to answer there too!
-
- I do believe there's substance to the reincarnation theory. That Emilia and Vittoria are reincarnations of/connected to other, more ancient powers.
- Celestia keeps calling Emilia 'Daughter of the Moon' and 'Daughter' in Ch-34. And I seem to recall the Crone was supposed to symbolise the moon and the night (?). So what if Emilia is actually her daughter that was cursed and went missing from the realm? And I think Wrath knows about the true identity of both Celestia and Emilia.
- As for Vittoria, I think she's either a reincarnation of La Prima or her daughter.
- Still going on with this theory, I think Emilia and Vittoria were definitely connected in their past life as well.
- Emilia said it felt like the truth when she said the grimoire was hers. If the reincarnation theory turns out right, she would definitely have claim over her own mother's grimoire, which in witch lore are often passed over generations.
- What if the Crone cursed the consort/ The First Witch's daughter in revenge for La Prima cursing hers?
- Also, we've been told that La Prima was the daughter of the Sun Goddess and a Demon, and then there's this whole Daughter of the Moon thing going on with Emilia. AND Vittoria’s cornicello is gold and Emilia's is silver. Sun and Moon? This could be a coincidence, but I don't think so...👀
- In chapter 16 of KOTC, Envy says The Fallen was the sculpture depicting the day the Devil lost his wings...and in the Wrath POV bonus chapter from KOTW, he says that he was once content with the fiery passion of love, but had given everything up the day he had Fallen, so I'm assuming that here, when he says Fallen, he's referring to losing his wings...? Now, at the end of KOTC's prologue, it looks like he made a bargain with La Prima. What if part of his bargain was to give up the person he had loved, which from the memories/visions Emilia had, points to it being her past life/self...?
- "Perhaps you refuse to look too closely at him because of what it reveals about you. He is your mirror. And rarely do we appreciate what stares back at us." - Idk why but I feel like "He is your mirror" is a significant line. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to add them!
- There's all the talk of Wrath and his inferno in both the books...And now EMILIA CAN SUMMON FIRE. I don't think this is a coincidence.
- Emilia has this Moon association going on with her...and in the Crescent Shallows, someone (I think it could be Wrath 👀) had painted the phases of the moon. What if it was in the memory of her past-life self? Or part of some attempts to make her remember the curse?
- In her scrying session, Claudia says “He wishes to remember, but only forgets". So what if part of Wrath's curse is that he forgot all of the time he spent with Emilia's past self?
- The statue in the garden. The snake seems to be symbolic of Wrath. As for the woman, I feel like she has the Emilia aesthetic? The crescent moons, the flowers? The fury in her eyes, when Wrath is Emilia's ✨favourite sin✨. All of it makes me think this is Emilia's past self. The Serpent and The Vengeful Lady? Wrath/Samael and Emilia?
I would probably have some more later, but for now, this is it, I think. If anyone has any theories of their own or thoughts on these, PLEASE COME SCREAM WITH ME OVER THEM! You can reply/reblog here, or send them in an ask, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE. I'm always up for clowning over this series and over PrinceWitch! 🤡
are you actually reading for fun or is it to distract your mind from the current state your life is in and to keep you in a blissful fantasy where all the monsters could be slayed and problems could be solved with simply the turn of a page?
