My interpretation of Starlight Glimmer! She has of my favourite villain plotlines.

She’s a true cult leader this time around…

Starlight Glimmer always felt she was destined for greatness despite her humble beginnings in a sleepy, remote town. She was annoyed by the villagers’ endless generosity and how they all shared their wealth together, and saw it as the cause of their troubles; if there was no competition, how was anyone supposed to succeed? The town would stay remote and unknown forever unless someone took the reins...

She and her meek friend Sunburst ran for office, something that had never been done before; the little town had never had a need for a leader when everyone looked after each other equally. She began pitting the townsfolk against one another by starting competitions, creating awards, implementing a currency, and even pointing out much more unicorns could do than other ponies. But she, Starlight Glimmer, deserved to be the leader because she was the best among them all.

The campaign grew and grew, spreading to nearby villages and towns until Starlight Glimmer’s ego began to grow, too: she was surely destined by fate to rule Equestria. She became a divine figure among her citizens, creating an entire religion where she would lead the way to true success and happiness—but only the best and richest could join her, of course.

Sprinkled in some Porky from Mother 3 here, some Lysandre from Pokémon XY there…voila! Pony cult of capitalism!

♡ Hector looked through Dominic and gazed at you. You could see now where Dominic’s predilection for sharp, underhanded stares originated; the founding father of Dominic’s cold architecture.

♡ You felt as if his eyes combed over your very being, unravelling all the tangles in your make-up and laying you down to your most base, threadbare foundations, seeing you for what you really were.

♡ “Very well,” the older man grumbled, only taking his eyes off you once Dominic cleared his throat. Beside you, his son’s fingers twitched. 

♡ You were excused shortly after with Dominic taking you outside, almost jogging down the steps with a haste you’d never witnessed before, and bringing you to a most isolated spot. You’d noticed a collection of staff – chefs, maids, caretakers, gardeners – crawling about the mansion. None of them resided near you now.
