my thoughts on 2x08

  • Finley really continues to be the worst - endangering lives and playing it off as a joke, complaining about the consequences of her own actions, taking absolutely no responsibility
  • honestly, i only half understand the situation between Dani, Bette and Pippa and the whole "endowment" thing, but I'm not looking forward to how this is gonna blow up
  • i love Tom and i am glad Alice found the sense to be honest with him and make things right
  • Tess and Shane are a good fit and i hope it lasts
  • with just a couple minutes of screentime i fell in love with Claudia and i hope that it's not the last we see of her!!!!
  • i love the way Gigi opened up about finding the hot and cold treatment difficult and that Dani just listened and apologised
  • i love the way Dani opened up about feeling embarrassed of Gigi seeing how her dad treats her, and that Gigi wanted to make sure she wasn't the one to make her feel embarrassed
  • lastly, i feel like Gigi's tongue needs its own title credit with the amount we see it

I’m so glad this couple exists. They are so raw, and the chemistry just radiates off the screen. The fact that they both are at points in their lives where they’ve come from such hurt just to meet each other along the way adds to the beauty of this couple. They both have given so much in their past relationships and received very little in return. They are exactly what each other needs right now.

You can just tell by how affectionate Gigi is towards Dani even prior to them confirming that they both wanted to take their relationship further. She pays such close attention to her, and Dani, who seems like she would be a pretty guarded person, let her walls down early on. Her farther was a career driven businessman who probably didn’t have time in his day to look after a little girl. With no siblings she’s had to internalize a lot of what she is feeling. With Sophie she was extremely guarded and it didn’t help that Sophie would continuously try to FORCE Dani to open up to her instead of taking the time to care for her the way she needed. Gigi does that for Dani in a way she hasn’t been cared for in a while.

Same things goes for Gigi. We meet Gigi in a rocky spot. She’s co parenting with her ex wife who she still had feelings for at the time. She had so much care for Nat she was will to join a throuple, potentially ruining their relationship, just because Nat wanted to. She was willing to do anything to make a mends for her past mistakes. And Bette refused to open up to Gigi. She just wants to be loved.

The most secure couple this show has given was Bette and Tina. And they were toxic as hell. Next was Tasha and Alice and they were a bad match for each other as well. It’s refreshing to see them get a pairing so right. I just really hope they don’t mess it up. We’ll see. There’s no way you can look at this couple on screen and be like, yeah I’m about to ruin them.

Also I’m glad that you enjoy my analysis. I do this so I don’t drive my wife crazy talking about it so much! lol I have a lot of thoughts!

  • we didn't NEED to start the ep with Sophie and Finley having sex but here we are 😑
  • Bette talking about Gigi "playing head games"? ...HUH???????? i give up trying to understand Bette's problem with Gigi
  • ah yes Alice having car sex with her head sticking out of the sunroof is very discrete
  • sex at work again in an unlocked room???? both stupid and unprofessional. they are the worst
  • no because they REALLY want me to hate Bette this season don't they. I'm 100% on Carrie's side
  • why do i lowkey feel like Carrie was lying to Shane about AA
  • Nat saying "I haven't seen [Gigi] like this in a long time" was very reassuring for ME
  • god i wish Finley would leave Dani alone
  • "I'm so fucking sorry" "no you're not" EXACTLY
  • I am 100% here for Dani dragging Finley rn
  • "you're like the most adult person i know" "i think that says more about you than it does me"
  • "but we're like the same age" "and I think the similarities end there" 😂
  • "get a job" IM HOWLING
  • "DON'T STEAL PEOPLE'S FIANCEES" 💀💀💀
  • THIS is my all time favourite scene of Gen Q
  • Finley really does not have more than two brain cells like WHY are you asking Dani for advice

I'm maybe overanalyzing this instead of paying attention at work but Gigi and Dani's relationship is the perfect opportunity to show that you can love and trust after being hurt, that there is someone out there that will try for you, that its okay to be scared and takes things slow because eventually love will come healthier and It's going to be good. Also that you are not defined by the mistakes you made in the past and you can love and be faithful. These two have an amazing potential please writers don't fuck this up.

I kinda love how Gigi went in for the first kiss, after getting closer and seeing Dani was comfortable with her being that close and just broke that tension, just went for it.

But after she let Dani set the pace and just responded to her. 'Cause it was Dani who went in for the rest of the kisses, initiating them.

And Gigi did ask her to ''come in'', but was completely respectful with Dani not being ready and wanting to take it slow. We couldn't see Gigi's face when Dani said '' I cant, not yet'', but you can see how Gigi nodds her head. And immediately tells her' 'it's real, it's very real'' kinda to assure Dani she ain't in it fjust for sex.

I donno, I just thought their whole interaction and in general their relationship is very pure.

I hope the writers don't mess with this genuine connection + amazing chemistry just for the sake of drama on the show.
