The pixel artwork of the original Final Fantasy game has fascinated me since I first played the game as a child, including the dynamic monsters that seemed to leap from the screen. Only much later would I discover that these monsters were drawn by Kazuko Shibuya, with many of the concepts created by the renowned illustrator Yoshitaka Amano (other concepts came from Square staff, including Shibuya herself). The unique style of both these great artists have become synonymous with the series over the years. Do you like Earthbound? Well, imagine if it were a completely different game about an angry pudgey kid with glasses that gets into a knife fight with a god. That would be pretty cool.
I'm working on a game called "Leopold Kills a God" and it's basically what it says on the tin. But he also fights Lizard Wizards, like the one pictured above. This runs on a real Game Boy, by the way.
I'm hoping to make it available as a physical and digital release someday.

Always wondered what adult Mario would look like in Super Mario World 2 - Yoshis’s Island so took a whack at it. Did a small plompy one and a bigger one.
Also attempted a chunkier Super Mario World sprite for fun.
