So you all remember I wanted to make this a Doctor & Master painting, but I had a whole incident on twitter with someone who thought it would be nice to send me a sexist comment via DM, I could not bring myself to finish it the way I intended. I was quite proud of the way she turned out though and didn‘t want her to go to waste. So Imma just post her on her own.❤️

okaYYYY i decided to make a short angsty (h/c actually) comic after the events of s12 finale coz i can’t cope 

so, thirteen doesn’t visit the fam after they all escape gallifrey, she goes straight to looking for the master coz she can’t focus on anything else. it takes longer than anticipated though and she’s starting to lose hope a little

candle making

last week was my mom’s birthday, and since she’s been going through a bit of a hard time recently i wanted to make her something that would hopefully bring some positivity into her life.  i chose to make her a pink candle to represent love and joy, and added essential oils for some calming aromatherapy properties.

how to: 

     1. plug in your hot glue gun

     2. begin shaving off pieces of the 10-inch candle and place them in the cauldron.  i tried to shave off around the wick so i could reuse it, but this was a little more time-consuming.  you could probably just melt the candle and pull the wick out of the hot wax, but my cauldron is too small to do that.  

     3. begin melting the candles together.  i started by completely melting half of the 10-inch candle, then adding 2 of my colored candles.  i added the other half of the 10-inch candle, waited for it to melt, and put in the last birthday candle.  to melt my wax, i used a candle in my bedroom.  i dont recommend this because it’s probably pretty hazardous.  i recommend using a microwave or normal stove.  this was my setup:

pretty rough, i know.  i did everything to be as safe as possible, but dont recommend this technique at all.  looking at this makes me cringe im done lol

     4. in between waiting for all of the wax to melt, i began assembling the candle holder.  (is there an official name for this?  if there is i cant think of it for the life of me lmao moving on) first, i hot-glued the rose petals to the bottom of the holder.  this is completely optional of course, i just thought it added a nice touch.  (as mentioned above, you can do any other plant that coincides with what your goal is with this candle.  just make sure it isnt toxic.) after those were situated so they lined the bowl, i glued in the wick and its anchor.  i also wrapped the wick around a stick so it would stay standing up. i then added rock salt around the base of the wick

     5. when the wax is completely melted, add your essential oils if you want a scent.  i mainly added lavender, tea tree, and sweet orange.  you need to do a ton of each if you want an actual scent, i think i did 20 drops each of lavender and tea tree oil and then another 10 of sweet orange.

     6. when everything is set up, it’s time to pour the wax into your container.  do this carefully to avoid burns and spillage.  after you pour it all, if you aren’t already at one, move your candle to a cool, level place.  my altar is right next to my window so i chose to move my candle there.  i also had a little extra wax, so i was able to make those cute little seashell candles! they lasted for like 20 minutes but were adorable so it was worth it.  

     7. when the wax has almost completely solidified (wait until the last second or it will dry all bumpy and ugly), add more rock salt to the top of the candle.  this adds a pretty, cleansing vibe.  wait for the candle to cool completely, cut the wick about ¼ of an inch up from the wax, and you’re done!  

i didn’t use the best methods for making this candle, but desperate times call for desperate measures in the name of secrecy.  i dont recommend using the same heating technique i did, i just wanted to show my complete process. stay safe out there

i dont know why, but it was so much more gratifying making my own, unique candle, infused with my intentions, than just buying one from a store.  obviously they aren’t very hard to make, but it was fun!

they literally removed the audio plugin and called it a benefit that it can now only work with their arbitrary wireless headphones. They coloured the phones a pinky gold and sold it for twice as much.

This isn’t a drag against you this is a drag against apple, the company. Their products are price hiked to an insane, impossible degree. They aren’t selling you the product, they are selling you the superiority of being able to smugly say you have an iphone. 

They deliberately built up a culture of apple supremacy (especially as a class barrier but i aint even gonna go into that), and now people are making posts like “lmao android users have a bad camera” (they dont) or “lmao android users send bad snapchats” (the android version of snap is deliberately coded to force lower resolution images in order to, surprise, get people saying that exact thing to further encourage #iphoneculture)

Buy an iphone if you want lord knows I’ve bought frivolouss things but can you PLEASE recognize youre being deceived??? theyre playing you every single time you make a post about your iphone and buy into their culture to squeeze more and more money out of you and divide the market and inevitably the classes.
