Archiving… One of my favorite festivals to cover is Coachella, which would have been this weekend. It’s always at that great time of year out in the desert valley when the weather is perfect and you see all your photo mates from all over for an annual catch up. There’s far more important and dire things happening in the world I know, but it was fun to dip into a bunch of previous years and see a bunch of artists shot on side stages in the early afternoon as they were about to blow up and now take top billing around the world. And to see pics of crowds all enjoying music as one big mass of humanity. Everyone is taking a hit by the live music industry being shutdown; DJs, bands, production, security, photographers, catering, cleaners, parking attendants, the ripple effect is massive. Here’s to the future and how we can all come together again to dance, thrash, stomp and sing together again. And hopefully in more sustainable ways too.
